ONDO LAWMAKERS CALL FOR CALM AS ENDSARS PROTESTS TURN VIOLENT.

As the ENDSARS protests by youths across the country take a violent dimension, Lawmakers of the Ondo State House of Assembly have entreated the protesters to embrace peace as government attends to their agitations.

Youths across the country for some days now have stormed the streets in protest against police brutality among other human rights abuses.

The youths in their numbers had requested for a police reform that would correct alleged infringement on human rights and bring culpable officers to book.

The protests however became awry following infiltration by hoodlums culminating in the destruction of lives and property that greeted the alleged killing of some protesters.

In the aftermath of the killing, several public institutions were torched.

In his message,Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Oleyelogun Bamidele David who spoke on behalf of other Lawmakers appealed to the youths to allow peace to reign as government would attend to all their demands.

Rt Honourable Oleyelogun again restated support of Ondo State Lawmakers for the legitimate agitation of the youths but urged them to conduct themselves peacefully to facilitate prompt resolution of the problems at hand as he condemned Lekki Toll Gate massacre in Lagos and killing of unarmed protesters in other parts of the country.

The Speaker called on the President to urgently address the demands of the protesting youths for lasting peace to reign in the country.

According to the Speaker nothing can be achieved in an atmosphere devoid of peace.

He therefore called on all relevant institutions to come to the round table in order to fashion out an enduring solution to human rights violation by police in the country.
