Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe emergence as one of the elevated Traditional Rulers in the state on Wednesday was somehow dramatic as the long overdue historical pain was erased.
This is certainly a good time for Oba Oladunjoye Fajana as his elevation to the status of first class monarch mean so much for the people of the community.
It was excitement, joy throughout the length and breath of Okeagbe Akoko when the people of the community received the news as they described the elevation as “the journey of over 20 years comes to reality.”
For over 20 years since the unwarranted assault on the throne of his forefathers, the news brought relief and restored the exalted throne to its rightful place in the comity of Akoko Traditional Rulers.
The news was received with thunderous applauds cheering from all Okeagbe indigenes at home and abroad.
In a statement by the family of HRM Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, PhD signed by Prince Niyi Fajana noted that the restoration of the Ajana Afa stool to Grade A by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu demonstrates that this Governor doesn’t need to know you before he does right by you.
It reads: “Governor Akeredolu continues to push the limits and stands for the common man with no voice with almost all hope lost.
“Thanks to Governor Akeredolu, he has brought respite to the people of Okeagbe with this singular action.
“Oba Dr. Fajana promises to remain a steadfast supporter of government and promises Okeagbe will continue to play her part in the development of the state.
“Oba Fajana has been full of praise and adoration to God almighty for allowing him to witness this highlight during his 31st year on the throne of his forefathers.
“Countless attempts to get previous governments to review the injustices meted against the highly exalted Throne of HRM Ajana Afa of Okeagbe proved abortive despite being faced by very simple and direct facts concerning the stools incorrect grading.
“None of these governments had the political fortitude, courage to correct the injustice.
“Governor Akeredolu has proven to be a world class leader and a defender of truths and with this, Okeagbe will be forever in his debt and will be fondly remembered for years to come.
