Two Years of Fulfilled Electoral Promises By Timehin Adelegbe

It it is already two years now that the good people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency have given electoral mandate to Hon. Timehin Adelegbe to represent them at the Federal House of Representatives in Abuja. The federal lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency knew from the very first day of his election, the importance of electoral trust reposed in him by his people. He has therefore acted cautiously and conscientiously not to take his people for granted.

Without doubt, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe would readily feel enthused if asked to give account of his two years stewardship as a member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. Otunba Adelegbe is already known and seen by people within and outside of his constituency to have offered quality representation in his two years of being in office. No one within Owo/Ose Federal Constituency can in good conscience accuse Timehin of poor performance.

In his two years of being in office, Adelegbe has practically fulfilled all his electoral promises to his people. As a matter of fact, he has deliberately made the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency the focus of his stay at the National Assembly. The former Commissioner of Commerce and Industry has also manifestly fulfilled his promise to offer himself as an exhibit in the case of hope for his people and to also effect positive change across Owo/Ose federal constituency. Interestingly, Timehin has become a mirror through which many people could now clearly view the fulfilment of their cherished political ideals and expectations.

In just two years, Hon. Adelagbe has sponsored bills and moved motions that have in no mean measure substantially improved the lots of greater number of the people in his federal constituency. He has equally promoted the economic wellbeing and social status of his constituents, while he has also attracted developmental projects to Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

In a manner that is unprecedented,
Otunba Adelegbe had appointed 30 Special Assistance and Legislative Aides with assigned port folios from the 23 wards in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. This appointment has undoubtedly gone a long way to promote government of inclusiveness and thereby negated the mindset of winner takes all syndrome in the constituency of Hon. Timehin Adelegbe.

The issue of abandoned Okeluse/Ogbese bridge is already nearing full completion due to the intervention of Timehin Adelegbe. The abandoned project had since been re-awarded to a serious minded and committed contractor.
The federal lawmaker has also given due attention to rural electrification projects in Upenmen and Owo. He had since ensured that this project was captured in the budget for prompt execution.

Moreso, in only two years of his inauguration as a member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Timehin Adelegbe had also deployed strong legislative framework to initiate the construction of 8 Town Halls within the communities in his federal constituency. This is also in addition to attracting the construction of two Skills Acquisition Centres within Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. This great efforts by Adelegbe had likewise been followed with the construction of two International Standard ICT centres within the federal constituency.

He had also within two years deployed his influence to ensure the
construction of Molege-Ute road. Also, Otunba Timwhin Adelegbe had equally pushed for the reactivation of all the faulty Hand Pump boreholes and motorized boreholes the rural parts of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency by the Ministry of Water Resources.

The visionary Timehin Adelegbe had since initiated collaborative efforts with his fellow South West federal lawmakers at the National Assembly to push for the
dualization of Akure/Ilesa Expressway, which terminated at Ita-Ipele, in Owo Local Government.
This project when completed will not only enhance better flow of traffic on the road, it is also expected to give further boost to the socio-economic activities of the zone.

Instructively, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe has gone down in history as the very first federal lawmaker in Ondo State to have carried out four massive empowerment programmes within two year of his inauguration. It is also on record that not less than 1000 constituents had benefitted financially and materially from the first and second empowerment programmes. Some constituents that benefitted financially got cash
donations that ranged from N10,0000 to N30,000. The second
set of the empowerment beneficiaries also got huge amount of money presented to them by the
by the Director General of National Directorate of Employment, Dr. Awosakin. The programme came up on Feburary 15, 2020 at St. Paul’s Primary School, Ifon,

In addition, another 300 deserving
women beneficiaries selected across Ose/Owo Federal Constituency were also given various micro-enterprise enhancement materials such as sewing machines, power generating sets, hair-driers, clippers and bathing kits during the second batch of the empowerment programme.

Timehin was not done yet, he had also reached out to some physically challenged persons. He had taken it upon himself to donate
a good number of wheelchairs and grail to the physically challenged persons who were led by their coordinator.

It is also important to state that Hon. Adelegbe had used his good office to provide employment opportunities to a good number of
employable youths in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. These lucky persons have since resumed work in various federal ministries, departments and agencies of government. He had equally facilitated and ensured the execution of various infrastructural and developmental projects through his collaborative efforts with government at various levels.

More importantly, Otunba Timehin Adelegbe deserves commendation for his robust relationship with his constituents. He had since organized a first of its kind town hall meeting with his constituents which was tagged “Meet Your Rep.”
This meeting had created a platform for the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency to get first hand information about the activities of Hon. Adelegbe at the National Assembly. It also serves as an avenue for the constituents to
ask questions or suggest way forward for the constituency.

The very first edition of the town hall meeting was chaired by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo and paramount ruler of Ogho kingdom. Also in attendance at the meeting were His Royal Highness Oba Ademola Oyinbade, the Oloba of Uso, His Royal Highness Oba Oluwafemi Joel Adeluwoye II, the Asuada of Isuada, Chief Sydney Ogunleye, the Owo Local Government All Progressive Congress Chairmen and his counterpart from Ose Local Government, Chief Ladi Tenabe, other community leaders amongst other party faithful, religious and opinion leaders.

It is also worthy of mentioning that Hon. Timehin Adelegbe distributed palliative items to more than 3000 households to cushion the adverse effects and hardship of Covid -19 pandemic on the constituents. Some of the beneficiaries were
party faithful, widows and less privilege in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

In appreciation of conscientious delivery of democratic dividends by Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) attested to the outstanding performance of the federal lawmaker. The governor gave the commendation at Methodist Primary School, Owo while distributing empowerment items donated by Adelegbe to the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. The governor who was represented st the occasion by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa had advised other lawmakers to emulate Adelegbe. He equally advised the beneficiaries of the empowerment
be more financially and economically prudent and to take maximum advantage of the items donated by Otunba Timehin Adelegbe.

Moreso, Otunba Adelegbe was equally commended by Ondo State Governor for his numerous empowerment programmes for the people of Owo/ Ose Federal Constituency. Akeredolu was quick to add that the regular and strategic
empowerment intervention by Hon. Timehin would go a long way to offer a leeway for the people of Owo and Ose from the aerobic cycle of poverty.

Similarly, the Acting APC Chairman
in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin had also taken time to commend Otunba Timehin Adelegbe for embarking on four empowerment programmes in just two years. He had gleefully described Adelegbe as a faithful, reliable and trusted party man whose loyalty can never be in doubt. Engr. Adetimehin equally enthused that the four empowerment programmes embarked upon by Hon. Timehin Adelegbe was indeed an eloquent testimony that he is no doubt a selfless leader and worthy ambassador of the people of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

It is on record that Otunba Timehin Adelegbe distributed 10 Toyota Sienna buses, 20 motorcycles, 50 power generating sets, 10 deep freezers and 40 sewing machines to beneficiaries drawn from all the 23 political wards that made up Owo/Ose Federal Constituency during his fourth empowerment programme. As a matter of fact, the beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they were full of praises for Hon. Adelegbe. They all described the empowerment programmes as timely and excellent intervention by the federal lawmaker.

The Holy Bible admonishes us that anyone who is faithful with little can be trusted with much. Without doubt, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe has proven himself as a good representative of his people. In just two years, he has fulfilled all electoral promises to his people and still itching to set new and unmatched record of achievements.
