Goodness is a virtue that Humans do not just claim to posses, it is one that is always made evident in character and actions, a sun does not hide its radiance nor the moon its shine from the world.
When our society is blessed with true progressives who have the heart to pursue the good of the greatest number of people, maximizing happiness for all. It’s thus refreshing to see men who fits the aforementioned category within the purview of our nation’s political class.
Ushering the good sons and daughters of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives is Hon. Dele Gboluga Ikengboju, a man whose actions matches his words. He came to the people before his assumption into power as their lawfully elected Federal Representatives with various electoral promises, the people gave him the mandate to lead and two years down the line, it’s been an amazing ride for the people of Okitipupa/ Irele Federal Constituency.
The rapport which has been established between Hon. Dele Gboluga Ikengboju and members of his Federal Constituency is one which has been greatly solidified with good polity as the highly proactive lawmaker has ensured that governance and good representation is brought closer to his people, and the much needed dividends of democracy is made for all irrespective of religion, status, age and political affiliation.
Despite the harsh economic challenges been experienced in the nation, he has adequately used the resources at his disposal to uplift his people, giving them a new and better lease of life.
He celebrates two years as a member of the green chamber, and it’s worthy to note that he has to his credits various projects and initiatives, both completed and on-going ones which has indeed changed the narratives.
The highly reserved and much respected lawmaker holds the best of virtues men could use to describe the best of men, his progressive strides within the last two years are highly commendable.
Immediately he was elected by his people and sworn in, he ensured the appointment of 55 constituent members as personal aides with monthly stipends paid ranging from 20,000 to 100,000.
He also financed the training of over 400 people across his Federal Constituency in different skill areas with the aim of securing sponsorship through the Central Bank funded assisted Programme. Through his efforts, he also has ensured that over 7 graduates secured jobs while many more applications are been vigorously pursued and lobbied for. And in respect of this, names have been nominated into the Army, Civil Defense, NDLEA, Immigration and numerous other organizations.
Adding to his laudable strides, over 100 women were trained and empowered with various skills in 2019 while in 2020, 200 women were trained and empowered with N200 women were trained and empowered with N100,000 each to begin small and medium scale enterprise.
He also came through for his people during the Covid-19 pandemic by facilitating the provision of Palliatives to ameliorate the associated hardship of Covid-19 Pandemic during the lockdown in 2019.
Under his leadership, over 50 names were submitted and picked for the N-Power programmme in 2020, 4 Names for the N-Power Coordinator. Adding to this, he ensured that 160 names were picked from his Federal Constituency to receive monthly stipends in the Survival Programme while 80 more got monthly stipends in the World Bank Assisted Promamme.
To his credit, he sponsored 12 names for loans, 5 were immediately picked as 5 people received 1,000,000.00 each in business expansion.

- Covid-19 Relief fund for women (March 7th, 2020).
- Training and Empowerment of women (strategic) on Catering programmes (BCDA).
- Made provision for N100,000 (One hundred Thousand Naira) empowerment for 100 women for business expansion
- Provided Cash grants provided for 400 people in the Federal Constituency (including youths) as business start-up grants. Most recipients got cash ranging from 50,000 to 450,000.
- Facilitated through the Primary health care development Agency (PHCDA) the delivery of N100,000,000 worth of medicines.
- Facilitated full renovation and upgrade of Ilutitun Comprehensive health center and without doubt many other centers have been identified for upgrade in 2021
- 2021 UTME/JAMB forms were widely distributed free to qualified candidates across the Federal Constituency
Acknowledging the need to prioritize cash empowerment and opening for funds to cushion the effects of the global economic meltdown on businesses in 2019/2020, hence the direction of his policies. Hon. Dele Gboluga Ikengboju has decided concentrate on infrastructural development in 2021, therefore the following programmes have been itemized for execution, Solar powered street lights in 3 communities; Grading of Rural roads in the Federal Constituency; Community- Hall and Event center (Irele Local Government); Modern Sports and Event center (Okitipupa Local Government); Block of 3 classroom to be constructed in Ode – Aye; Training of youth and women in Commercial fish production; Renovation and upgrade of modern primary healthcare centre; Grants for Business start – up and expansion (Across the Federal Constituency) ; Special Intervention to those with health , education and other welfare challenges; Distribution of Empowerment materials to youths and women in the Federal Constituency ; Health and educational programmes and many more.
With these array of sustainable development projects and Initiatives are been done by Hon.Dele Gboluga Ikengboju in serving his people, there is no doubt about the sincerity of his purpose and intent, while he has been able to achieve this within the first two years, there’s no doubt that many more will come from him in the next two years.
