Credible investigation by the Triangle News Media has revealed that the strained relationship between All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is playing a major factor militating against the candidacy of Hon. Babatunde Okeyomi popularly known as Carry Go.
Hon. Okeyomi having garnered the popular support during the last APC LCDA Primary Election in Ojokoro, the party leadership is not opened to give Hon. Okeyomi the party’s consent to bear the party’s flag in the coming LCDA election. And according to credible sources, it was revealed that this is majorly linked to the standing relationship between Hon. Okeyomi and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who is at loggerhead with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During a visit by our correspondent to the LCDA, it was further revealed that the standing tussle between the two political bigwigs has played against the candidacy of Hon. Okeyomi who many had rooted to clinch the party’s flag because of his popular support, it will be recalled that all Traditional Monarchs in Ojokoro had gathered to collectively endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Okeyomi.
Hon. Okeyomi during his previous attempt to clinch the party’s ticket was denied by the then Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, who chose to give the ticket to one of his political son, it’s been however discovered that the party is planning to return the ticket to same individual.
In an interview with Hon. Okeyomi, he revealed that there’s no tussle between Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in his words,” Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my political Grandfather while Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola is my Political GodFather.”
“I have huge respect for Asiwaju as I am an unapologetic supporter who will go the extra mile to advance his course, I was the first to start the Tinubu 2023 (T23) which has spread all over Nigeria now”
He also added that he has remained committed to the will and interest of the people as he has through various projects and initiatives empowered the people within and outside Ojokoro LCDA.
Furthermore he revealed that he was the one who declared a “NO VOTE” movement against Ambode in a trending video when the incumbent was seriously supporting Ambode against Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Hon. Okeyomi holds one of the strongest and biggest political movement in Lagos State for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, it’s on record that they were the first to have openly come out to start the campaign for Tinubu 2023 movement. It’s however sad that some political figures in the background are aiming to militate against his success despite his immense contributions to the Tinubu 2023 agenda.
