Delivering more of people oriented projects and initiatives, Hon. Olamide Oladiji popularly known as Landmark has continued to raise the bar high. His strategic and we’ll tailored projects and initiatives has continued to put smiles on the faces of many, transforming their lives in the process.
The latest is the free acquisition programme which was put in place by the Deputy Majority Leader, Ondo State House of Assembly where he had set up a scheme to empower his constituent members who are in dire need of Semi-formal Education at no cost which will enable them establish themselves on their path to financial liberation.
The people recorded a major win in their pursuit of enjoying more dividends of democracy as Landmark Vocational and Innovative Institute with Landmark Polytechnic, Ondo State Chapter,graduated his first set of students.
After they had undergone a rigorous training where they were exposed to both the basic and advanced skills needed to be the Master of their various chosen vocational trainings, with huge delight in appreciation to Hon. Olamide Oladiji,they looked forward to making a good use of what they have learnt in their pursuit of self sufficiency and personal development.
The extensively run three months training is the first of its kind in Ondo Kingdom which started with an initial set of 150 students who had signed up for different vocations and skills.
Some of the programmes undertaken by the graduating students include; Leather Works (Bags, Shoes), Computer Training and Maintenance, Confectionery, Animal Husbandry, Cosmetology, Fashion Designing, Hairdressing, Decoration, House Products Production(Soaps ,Germicides, Hair Cream, Body Cream) etc.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Olamide Oladiji , “This gesture was borne out of my determination and commitment to empower my people with the basic knowledge and skills that will positively transform their lives for the better”
He further explained that in the light of the recent economic realities, it has become highly imperative for him to invest into the lives of his people, adding values to their lives which will go a long way in sustaining them.”
The Ondo born lawmaker further stated in his speech that the programme is a long term project with zero cost from the applicants. He also revealed that over three hundred newly admitted students took the Matriculation oath today.
While speaking at the occasion, the Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. David Oleyelogun who represented the Ondo State Governor at the event declared the programme as the best form of empowerment anyone could give to people in order for them to be equipped mentally to achieve economic prosperity on their own.
He also applauded Hon. Olamide Oladiji for redefining politics, by adding real value to it in his pursuit of a better reality for his people.
Diploma certificates were later presented to the deserving graduands amidst cheers and applauses.
Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the occasion among whom were Ondo East and West Local Government Chairmen, Hon. Akinkuotu Wale Little and Hon. AkInsulire Ayodeji Ebenezer respectively. Others were Deputy Chief of Staff to the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Prince Omojuwa Olusegun, Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Acting State party Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, members of APC State Working Committee, Ondo State House of Assembly Members, Chief Olabisi Johnson (OJ), Royal Fathers, political leaders and a host of others.
