SENATE PRESIDENT, DR AHMED IBRAHIM LAWAN VISITED UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES TEACHING HOSPITAL COMPLEX ONDO STATE, (UNIMEDTHC)
The Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan alongside Senator Ajayi Borrofice, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and other senators were in the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex (UNIMEDTHC) Ondo state to visit one of their own members, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, who was involved in a road accident recently.

Dr. Ahmed Lawan said he came to Ondo to take the message of the 9th Senate Assembly to Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, that they are with him at all times and to pray along with him. He assured the Senator representing Ondo South at the 9th Assembly that his senatorial district will not be shortchanged because of his absence at the Senate.

Lawan gave this assurance on Friday at University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex (UNIMEDTHC) Ondo State, in Ondo West Local Government when he visited Senator Tofowomo who is recovering from an accident he had on September 6, 2019.

The Senate President appreciated and commended Senator Tofowomo for believing in the Nation’s health sector by patronizing University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTHC) Ondo despite having the resources to travel abroad for medical care. Lawan asked other Nigerian leaders to emulate Senator Tofowomo for such a nationalistic adventure.

Earlier, while appreciating the President of the Senate for the visit, Dr Michael Gbala the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the Teaching Hospital, thanked God for the quick recovery of Senator Tofowomo; and assured that the Senator would soon join his colleagues at the National Assembly the moment he is through with his treatment.

Dr. Micheal Gbala x-rayed the unprecedented achievements recorded by Akeredolu-led administration to transform the health sector of the state from where he met it. He said Governor Akeredolu has proved that with dedication and determination, a leader can perform even little funds.

The CMAC described the establishment of Teaching Hospital in the state as just one of his many achievements this present administration done in health sector while he explained how the law has established a multi-locational Teaching Hospital in the state, and how things will be done seamlessly in the Medical Hospital and in the University of Medical Science itself.

Dr. Michael Gbala however, encouraged wealthy Nigerians to stop seeking medical attention abroad just like the Ondo South Senator has demonstrated.
