Ondo PDP Leaders Disowns Fatai Adams
Ahead of the congress of Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, leader of the party across the Sunshine State have disowned Hon. Fatai Adams whom they described as an illegal occupant of the position of Deputy Chairman in the umbrella party.
In a letter written to the State Chairman of PDP, Engr. Clement Faboyede by the concerned PDP
leaders of thoughts in Ondo State which was dated March 5, 2020 and signed by eleven leaders of the party across the state; it described the continuous occupation of the position of the State Deputy Chairman by Alhaji Fatai Adams as an act of illegality.
The leaders alleged that Fatai Adams had resigned his position as the State Deputy Chairman of PDP on two different occasions and was surreptitiously returned to the same position by Engr. Clement Faboyede. The leaders contended that Adams first resigned his position as the State Deputy Chairman of PDP on January 2016 to contest as Chairman of Akoko North West Local Government Area which he lost. The letter also stated that Fatai Adams alongside Hon. Yomi Akinfenwa and Charles Adeduro all resigned their positions in 2018 as the State Deputy Chairman, Legal Adviser and Vice Chairman Central Senatorial District respectively to contest for House of Representatives in their respective federal constituency which Fatai Adams again lost out in the primaries.
The PDP leaders also accused Engr. Faboyede of flagrant disobedience of the party’s constitution by conferring on himself a non -existent power of giving his bosom friend, Fatai Adams a head-start and undue advantage in his quest to become the next State Chairman of PDP in Ondo State. Faboyede was also accused of arrogating to himself the power not conferred on him by the constitution of PDP by returning Fatai Adams to the position which he had willingly resigned on two different occasions.
The letter reads: “We believe that it is absolutely unfair to make the same man sit illegally in a previously held position and make him have input into the forthcoming congress in which he is also a participant.
“This is not only a rape of the party constitution, but undue conferment of advantages, albeit illegally by you on a bosom friend to give him a head-start ahead of other contestants for the position of State Chairman which he currently desires”.
Leaders of PDP that signed the protest letter include Hon. Dayo Akinsoyinu, Pastor Arowolo Oluwole, Olajide Obafemi, Chief Oyedeji Adetayo and Olaniyan Dayo. Others are Hon. Falekulo Olu, Afolabi Orukotan, Gladys George, Hon. Merogboriwonsehinde, Chief Olafimihan Asabi and Oladapo Abiola.
