Ondo Guber : Ibrahim ‘ll clinch APC governorship primaries– Otetubi

As the date for governorship primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) draws closer, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim,, the lawmaker representing Ondo South Senatorial District and governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, has been tipped to clinch the governorship ticket on April 20.

In a statement signed by a former Commissioner for Natural Resources, Hon. Idowu Otetubi in Akure, Ondo State capital said he has no doubt in his mind that the stakeholders and delegates of the party would give Senator Jimoh Ibrahim the opportunity to clinch Ondo gubernatorial ticket.

Otetubi, a Chartered Accountant stated that the aim of Ibrahim as governor of Ondo State is to deal with the age-long challenges facing the state, said he intends to achieve that by creating an identity for young people in the state where they are equipped for the future

“Like i always say, i have a very clear and ambitious goal as governor if given the party’s flag. I will create an identity for young people and equip them for the future. That’s certainly a lofty goal, but also one that could have a huge positive impact on the state”

“One way i could help young people prepare for the future would be by investing in education and training programmes, so that they have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly changing economy.

Another option could be to create incentives for businesses to hire young people, so that they have access to good jobs and opportunities to gain experience”

Otetubi added that with Senator Ibrahim as governor of the state, he will attract more businesses to the state, and encourage existing businesses to expand, that could increase the tax base and provide more revenue to fund education and training programmes.

Navigating this balance will require him as the governor to adopt a well-rounded approach to economic development.

“This could involve investing in sustainable infrastructure, promoting green technologies, and supporting local businesses. It will also be important for him to engage with stakeholders from all sectors of society, including labour unions, groups, civil societies organisations to ensure that economic development strategies are aligned with their concerns”

As governor, he would have the opportunity to set a new direction for the state and to chart a course towards a brighter future. To do this, he will need to identify areas where previous governors may have fallen short, and to develop strategies for addressing these issues.

“He will prioritize transparency and accountability. Ensure that government spending is transparent and accountable, and hold public officials accountable for their actions.

“There will be massive investment in infrastructure and public services: Focus on upgrading and expanding infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and power grids, as well as improving public services, such as education and healthcare.

“The government under Sen. Ibrahim’s government will promote inclusive development, ensure that all communities and sectors of society, including marginalized and disadvantaged groups, are included in economic development initiatives.

“His government will embrace new technologies. Adopt new technologies, such as digital tools and clean energy, to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

“Foster public-private partnerships: Collaborate with private businesses and investors to develop innovative solutions to public challenges, such as climate change and poverty”

“Focus on human capital: Invest in education, training, and healthcare to develop a skilled and healthy workforce”

“Engage with civil society: Work with civil society organizations to develop and implement policies that address the needs and concerns of citizens”

He added that if the state embraces these and other innovative approaches, he is certain that he would have position Ondo State as a leader in economic growth, social progress, and good governance. And that is what Senator Jimoh Ibrahim represents.
