It was an incredible evening at the Triangle News International 10th Year Anniversary and Face of African Leadership Awards Dinner, held at the Great Hall, King’s College London yesterday.

I was deeply honoured to be presented with the Personality of the Year Award, a recognition I humbly dedicate to the collective efforts of our team and the ongoing commitment to national service.

Speaking on the topic, “Harnessing the Role of Africans in the Diaspora for Continental Development: Collaboration, Investment, Knowledge Transfer, and Civic Engagement”, I emphasized the importance of harnessing the potential of the diaspora community for national development.

Nigeria is not just blessed because of its people or mineral resources. We are also strategically positioned in a way that supports global trade and economic interaction. This positioning gives us a unique advantage that we must fully maximize.

While the reforms may appear challenging in the short term, their long-term benefits will be far-reaching. Many of the policies being implemented today are designed not just for immediate impact but for the prosperity of future generations. We are building a resilient economy that will stand the test of time.

The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is committed to channeling the expertise of those thriving in medicine, engineering, cybersecurity, academia, creative industries, fintech, and other fields back home through short-term exchanges, mentorship programmes, joint ventures, and strategic investments.

Nigeria is opening its doors. The coming decade brims with genuine opportunities; we must therefore move beyond amplifying past pains and unite to build a brighter future together.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to the Publisher and CEO of Triangle International Magazine, Otunba Olufemi Salako, for hosting such a remarkable and impactful event, and for his continued commitment to celebrating excellence and fostering leadership across Africa and its diaspora.
