News

In a sustained demonstration of grassroots development and people-centered leadership, the Itesiwaju Ondo Team has continued to roll out impactful community interventions across Ondo East, touching critical areas of sanitation, education, and local infrastructure.

Recently, the team carried out a comprehensive environmental sanitation exercise at the popular Owena Market, one of the largest and most economically significant markets in Ondo East within the Ondo Kingdom. The intervention was led by dedicated members including Farouk Awolope, Akinbileje Olumuyiwa, Jonah Temitope (Logistics Head), Betiku Kehinde (Team Lead), Adeosun Bukola, Faruku Abdullahi, Sabiu Yusuf, Ibrahim Hasan, alongside other committed volunteers.

Owena Market, which serves as a vital hub for trade and daily livelihood for many families, particularly women, benefited from the initiative following careful consultation with market leadership and traders. A specific day was agreed upon for the exercise, during which the team carried out thorough cleaning of the market environment and clearing of drainage systems to improve hygiene and prevent flooding.

The Oloja of Owena warmly received the Itesiwaju Team, offering prayers and words of encouragement while commending their dedication and selfless service to the community.

Beyond market sanitation, the Itesiwaju Team has also extended its intervention to the education sector, demonstrating a broader commitment to long-term community development. At Holy Trinity School and Ogo Oluwa School, the team undertook furniture refurbishment projects, repairing damaged desks, chairs, and other classroom facilities to create a more conducive learning environment for both pupils and teachers.

These efforts were driven by direct observation of needs within the schools and a commitment to delivering practical solutions that improve everyday experiences for members of the community. The interventions not only restored learning infrastructure but also boosted morale among students and staff.

Through these coordinated activities, the Itesiwaju Team continues to demonstrate a consistent and structured approach to development—one that prioritizes real needs, engages stakeholders, and delivers visible impact. From markets to schools, streets to drainage systems, the movement is steadily building trust and redefining community engagement through action.

The initiative reflects a clear philosophy that development must go beyond rhetoric and translate into measurable outcomes that directly affect the lives of the people. By focusing on practical interventions, the Itesiwaju Team is reinforcing the importance of responsibility, collaboration, and proactive leadership at the grassroots level.

With plans to expand similar interventions across more communities, markets, and institutions, the movement remains committed to improving living conditions, supporting local economic activities, and promoting sustainable development across Ondo East and beyond.

The growing impact of Itesiwaju stands as a testament to what can be achieved when leadership is driven by purpose and action.

Together, we build stronger communities.
