COALITION OF OGUN EAST YOUTH FORUM (COEYF) has said that the attack on Mr Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State was a deliberate one to distract the Government of Prince Dapo Abiodun and also to soil and discredit the reputation of Mr Tokunbo Talabi in their desperation bid to create something where there is none.
In a Communique issued after the Coalition of Ogun East Youth Forum’s meeting, held in Ijebu Ode, on Monday, 7th August 2023, the forum said “the fake stripes emanated from the den of political jobbers and retired Politicians, charge and bail SAN, brown envelope journalists and bloggers which was a deliberate one to distract the Government of Prince Dapo Abiodun and also to soiled and discredited the reputation of Mr Tokunbo Talabi in their desperation bid to create something where there is none”.
The Communique signed by Comrade Akeem Temitope Akilo, the Convener of the Forum and 16 other leaders of various groups across Ogun East Senatorial District, stated that “Coalition of Ogun East Youth Forum”, as patriots, directly spoke the minds of the majority of youths across Ogun East Senatorial District of Ogun state in ensuring that no amount of intimidation, concocted lies, propaganda, slander, defamation and disparagement will divert the attention of Mr Tokunbo Talabi from ongoing delivery of good governance in the state undertaken by the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun. As the Secretary to the Government of Ogun State, he has exhibited exceptional leadership qualities, dedication, and commitment to the development of Ogun State. He has continued to contribute his wealth of experience and expertise to the growth and progress of the state.

RE-DSS GRILLS OGUN STATE SSG:
A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AFTER THE COALITION OF OGUN EAST YOUTH FORUM’S MEETING, HELD IN IJEBU ODE, ON MONDAY, 7TH AUGUST 2023
1. The attention of the “Coalition of Ogun East Youth Forum” has been drawn to the caricature, a devilish, sensational but childish concocted story that was written by faceless Politicians and being circulated by brown envelope journalists and bloggers in their bid to dent the image of Mr Talabi, the Secretary to the Ogun State Government by linking the proactive, dedicated and law-abiding public officer to a company he left in the year 2019.
2. Following the foregoing, the Coalition of Ogun East Youth Forum from different parts of the 9 Local governments in Ogun East Senatorial Districts convened on Monday 7th of August 2023 in Ijebu Ode to deliberate on the aforementioned.
3. We were happy to have read the Superflux International Limited press statement and rejoinder where they gave more information on their former Director who resigned in 2019 to take up the position of SSG in Ogun State.
4. We were also happy that the company frowned on the story where they are being tagged as a conduit for money laundering, siphoning COVID-19 funds by urging the general public to disregard all the allegations because they were the handiwork of mischievous traducers.
5. We are not unaware that these fake stripes emanated from the den of political jobbers and retired Politicians, charge and bail SAN, brown envelope journalists and bloggers which was a deliberate one to distract the Government of Prince Dapo Abiodun and also to soiled and discredited the reputation of Mr Tokunbo Talabi in their desperation bid to create something where there is none.
6. Also these same people after using all their lifelines, resolved into trending another fake news that the DSS Grills Ogun State SSG which was published on Saturday, August 4, 2023, by one Mr Daud Olatunji of Punch but in reality, this shameless image destroyers are only out to do a hatchet job to massage the ego of their paymasters.
7. This same Mr Daud Olatunji was reported to have been working for one of the opposition parties in the state where he was promised political appointment.
8. This is not the first time, Mr Olatunji will be playing his bias card by relying on hearsay and using opinions to form a report before pushing it out for public consumption.
9. We hereby call on the Nigeria Police Force through the office of Ogun State Commissioner of Police to arrest this sensational journalist and other bloggers that engaged in this shabby job.
10. We are also using this medium to charge Superflux International Limited to take legal action against Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome and one Barr. Femi Oniyide for giving a bad image to the company for their watery petition to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Code of Conduct Bureau, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and linking the company with fraudulent activities.
11. We are also charging Mr Tokunbo Talabi to also institute legal action against the Punch reporter, Daud Olatunji, Barr. Femi Oniyide and Barrister Mike Ozekhome for linking him to fraud activities with a company he left in 2019.
12. It was Mr Talabi who filed a petition against those that linked him to horrific money laundering through his former company where he resigned as Director in 2019
13. Mr Talabi went to the DSS office by himself to defend the petition he has filed and provide more details that will help the DSS to carry out their job thoroughly and bring to book those that want to soil his name.
14. On this note, we are charging the general public to ignore all these desperate and retired Politicians who are fighting for relevance and attention. They were bent on a PhD (pull him down), which will have no discernible effect on the career of the SSG, Mr Tokunbo Talabi.
15. We hereby urge The Punch to delete the hatchet job perpetrated by Mr Daud Olatunji on its website and also place him under suspension for publishing an unconfirmed report to maintain the good name Punch Newspapers is known for.
16. Conclusively, it is instructive to state that the “Coalition of Ogun East Youth Forum”, as patriots, directly spoke the minds of the majority of youths across Ogun East Senatorial District of Ogun state in ensuring that no amount of intimidation, concocted lies, propaganda, slander, defamation and disparagement will divert the attention of Mr Tokunbo Talabi from ongoing delivery of good governance in the state undertaken by the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
