A younger brother of the Deputy Governor of Edo State , Frederick Shaibu, has been kidnapped by gunmen .
Although the incident happened on Monday , it was learnt that the kidnappers had yet to make contact with the family .
A family source said, “ It happened in Aruogba area , Irhiri around 7 am when he was driving his children to school . The children were left by the gunmen .
“ It is believed that the kidnappers came through the Ogba River because people who witnessed the incident said they went through the bush that leads to the riverside . Security agencies have been informed and they are doing everything possible to ensure that he is released unhurt .”
The Edo State Commissioner of Police , Babatunde Kokumo , said he was not aware of the case wondering how reporters got wind of the situation .
“ There is nothing I can tell you for now , ” the CP added .
