Interior Ministry Approves Promotion of
32,361 Paramilitary Personnel

Nigerian Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo on Friday chaired the Board meeting of Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) where promotion approvals were given for 32,361 personnel across the paramilitary agencies of the ministry.

The 5th meeting of Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) chaired by Tunji-Ojo was held on Friday, December 1, 2023 where approval was given for the promotion of 4,498 personnel from Nigeria Correctional Service.

The Board also approved the promotion of 4,598 personnel from Nigeria Immigration Service, 1,680 personnel from the Federal Fire Service, and 21385 personnel from Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. In total, promotions of 32,361 personnel were approved across all the paramilitary agencies of the Interior Ministry.

Speaking after the Board meeting, the Interior Minister, Tunji-Ojo described the promotion as a feat that is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria paramilitary service. He also described it as an evidence of the commitment of Renewed Hope government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) to prioritizing the welfare of Nigerian paramilitary officers.
