In commemoration of his second year anniversary in office, Hon. Tomide Akinribido,member representing Ondo West Constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly,has sponsored the training of fifty(50) women across his constituency in various skill acquisition at the fourth Girls Empowerment Training Skills (GETS4.0) entrepreneurship programme.
The Girls Empowerment Training Skills(GETS) is a pet project of the CEO of Jewels Fashion House,a renowned fashion and entrepreneurial business in ondo city,Mrs. Folasade Osungbemiro. The programme which holds annually is designed to take off the streets,young ladies and women who are unemployed but interested in skills acquisition for personal development.
It would be recalled that Hon. Akinribido had similarly sponsored the training of thirty(30) women in the year 2020 to mark his first year anniversary in office.
In keeping to his resolve to step up effort in stimulating human capacity development in his constituency,another set of fifty (50) participants have been selected to for this year’s edition of the training programme.
Addressing the participants at the kickoff of the training programme today,,June 4th,Hon. Akinribido stressed that the programme is geared towards making our women to acquire more entrepreneur skills and make them self-reliant.
Responding,some of the participants praised Hon. Akinribido’s commitment to women development and assured him of their readiness to pay full attention to the training which will be conducted by facilitators.
Some of the skills to be acquired by participants include; Dress Making,Bridal Wears,Hair Making,Make-Up artistry,Ankara Crafts,Cake making and confectioneries.
