We live in a socio-political reality where the members of the electorates have little or no hope on the relevance of the present political class to deliver them the much needed dividends of democracy through good representation. This is because most of the politicians whom they have given their votes for in time past has made a mockery of their trust and have violated the mandate given to them.
By implications, it’s always a delightful sight when the masses who form a larger percent of the electorate see a public officer who truly care about their welfare, who have dedicated their existence to pushing for the greater good of all. Senator Ajayi Borrofice, Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly who also doubles as the Nigerian Deputy Senate Leader represents excellence and sheer brilliance amongst his contemporaries, a formidable icon whose profile speak of greatness and mouth watering antecedents birthed by no small feat.
Senator Prof Robert Ajayi Boroffice has accomplished an incredible amount in his life. He has been a key figure in developing Nigeria’s science infrastructure, first as the Pioneer Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency, launching the first ever Nigerian satellites.
Under his guidance and leadership, NASRDA became the fastest growing space agency in the world. He successfully developed from a virgin land to what it is now a pride of Africa-Obasanjo space center. In addition to the physical infrastructure on ground, he pursued aggressively capacity building in all areas of space science and technology . Thus, the agency can now boast of over 150 space scientists trained in different part of the world.
The highlights of his achievement in NASRDA include:
* The successful launch of a low orbit micro-satellite code named Nigeria Sat-1 in 2003. The first of its kind in the black world.
* The successful launch of Geostationary orbit communication satellite code named Nigcomsat-1 in 2007. The first in the black world.
* The manufacture of Nigeriasat-2, a 300kg Earth observation satellite with a 2.5 resolution in the panchromatic band and 5m in the multispectral band this was launch in 2011 by his successor.
* Telemedicine network linking six Federal medical centers with two teaching hospitals in the country.
* Tele-education network linking via satellite, the National Open University of Nigeria Lagos with 13 other study centers across the country.
Having now taken his ambitions to the political sector, Boroffice is striving to realize his dream of a peaceful Nigeria where opportunity for young people abounds and as a man who never disconnect with his people at the grass-root, though he faced little opposition yet, he got the ticket of his party, the labor party to contest the sanatoria election. He defeated other two contestants from PDP and ACN to emerge as the Senator representing his Ondo North Senatorial District people at the seventh National Assembly in Nigeria.
Having joined the All Progressive Congress (APC) on the 28th of December 2011, he proceeded in 2015 to contest for the second term as the Senator representing the good of Ondo North Senatorial District and because of his good antecedents , he defeated other contestant from other party to emerge winner and ever since then he has never looked back on his promises to lead his Senatorial District to a new reality of growth and development
Ever since his emergence as a Senator, he has never fallen short of his duty and responsibility as an elected public officer, he has risen brilliantly above the high spate of mediocrity which has so characterized the socio-political system .More importantly as a leader, a highly revered one in the country, he has continued to make himself a man worthy of being emulated by his contemporaries as well as the next generation of leaders.
His footprints are ever etched in the sands of his senatorial district through his various life changing community development based projects such as the construction of a multi- million skill acquisition Centre at Iku Qtrs, Ikare Akoko, Construction of a Cashew Processing Plant at Ikakunmo Akoko, Construction of a Garri Processing Plant, Iboropa Akoko, Facilitation of Federal Government Agency to Ikare, National Research Institute for Chemical Technology, Oyinmo Qtrs, Ikare Akoko, Construction of Ultra Million Modern laboratory at Akuunu Salomon Grammar School, Akuunu, Construction of Ultra Modern Six Classrooms with VIP toilets in Agborika Comprehensive High School, Ilepo Ikare-Akoko, Construction of six classrooms with VIP toilets in St.Hames Primary School, Ilepa-Ikare Akoko

Even as he continues his ever illustrious growth within the space of the Nigerian Socio-political landscape, he unrelentingly has made it his life long commitment to continue to pursue the greater good of all as this he believes is one of the greatest way through which we can positively sustain and advance humanity.
