ANYONE WHO COULD NOT HONOUR A GENTLEMAN AGREEMENT CANNOT BE TRUSTED BY THE PEOPLE ON CAMPAIGN PROMISES

A chieftain of  the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State, Chief Sola Ebiseni has revealed that any of the gubernatorial aspirants who left the party on account of the primary election do not deserve the trust of the people. Ebiseni, a lawyer  and one the contestants at the party’s gubernatorial primary is the Chairman of the party’sCommittee on Contact, Inter-party and Reconciliation.

Briefing journalists in  Akure at the end of the Committee’s engagement with party stakeholders in the South Senatorial District of the state, Ebiseni disclosed that on the 20th  of July at the National Headquarters in Abuja, all the aspirants signed a Memorandum  of Understanding among themselves and with the partypledging to work with the party to support any of them who may emerge winner at the party primary and that none of them shall decamp, defect or work against the success of the party. According to the former Commissioner, only an Omoluwabi, with the integrity to honour his words is fit as Governor. He declared that the PDP is the dominant party in the South which he attributed to the efforts of Dr. Olusegun Agagu, the former governor of the state to whom he paid glowing tributes.

Also speaking at the occasion, Dayo Ogungbenro, the South West Zonal Chairman of the party expressed satisfaction at the resolve of the leaders and members of the South Senatorial District to  work for the party. Ogungbenro who is the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, also confirmed that the PDP is the dominant party in the South and enjoined estranged members that it was not too late to return to the fold.

In his  own remarks, Secretary of the Committee and representative of the Governor of Oyo State, and  the Chairman of the Campaign Council, Hon. Dare Adeleke,said the PDP is the only real party in Nigeria adding that the recent experience in Edo state showed clearly that the umbrella symbol of the party is wide and strong enough to accommodate all shades of opinion and interests.
