An Open Letter to the President: Urgent Observations and Hopeful Expectations

Your Excellency,

Allow me to extend my sincere congratulations on your well-deserved victory as the President of our great nation. With divine guidance by your side, I have every confidence that your tenure will usher in a new era of goodness and hope for our beloved Nigeria.

We find ourselves at a critical juncture, grappling with severe economic challenges that have persisted through past leadership failures. However, I firmly believe, as I’m sure many Nigerians do, that your track record of accomplishments positions you as the instrument through which God will once again transform our nation.

While I commend your economic policies, I would like to draw your attention to some pressing concerns that demand urgent intervention to prevent potential crises:

Nigeria’s Workforce: It is imperative, Your Excellency, that we urgently address the dire economic hardships faced by Nigerian workers. Taking proactive steps in this regard will forestall any looming industrial unrest.

Subsidized Key Products: I humbly implore you to consider directing policies that reinstate subsidies on essential products. This approach, as witnessed in other nations like the USA, directly benefits the masses and would provide much-needed relief.

Palliative Measures: Immediate action is needed to deploy effective palliative measures, with meticulous monitoring, reaching every corner of our nation. This will help alleviate the pervasive economic tension that currently burdens our dear country.

Security Architecture Oversight: Your personal oversight of the current security architecture is vital to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency. Addressing the relentless loss of innocent lives is paramount to prevent a security crisis that could potentially overwhelm your administration.

Leadership and Democracy: Your Excellency, I hold unwavering faith in your democratic leadership abilities. I have no doubt that you possess the capability to navigate and resolve the multifaceted crises our nation faces. It is essential to act swiftly, for the voices of our people are akin to the voices of God.

As I close, I remain hopeful that your presidency will guide Nigeria towards the promised land, where the well-being of our citizens is paramount, and our great nation thrives.

Long live Nigeria.

Rt. Hon (Prophet) David Bamidele Oleyelogun
Immediate past Speaker, Ondo State
