Tayo Ayinde :
Triangle Innovative Public Servant of The Year 2023
He was born Tayo Akinmade Ayinde on 24th August, 1964 at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.He is popularly known as Buffalo and he is the current Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor. Buffalo is a trained accountant and alumna of the Federal Polytechnic Anambra, where he bagged Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Banking and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy.
He attended St Peters’ Anglican Primary School, Alausa, Ikeja, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He also attended Ogudu Grammar School, Ojota, Lagos where he obtained his West African School Certificate.
He worked with Tell Magazine as an account officer in 1993 and left the media organization to join the State Security Service (SSS) as Head of the Account Department, at the Shangisha Office from 1993 – 1999. He retired from the service of the SSS in 2009.
Mr Ayinde later worked with the former Governor of Lagos State, and the current president of Nigetia, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) as a Chief Security Detail. He was thereafter appointed as Chief of Staff by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on June 6, 2019.
Ayinde has since his appointment as the Lagos State Chief of Staff been making very significant contributions to the realization of the commitment of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration to the Greater Lagos Agenda. As the Chief of Staff and a member of the state executive committee, Ayinde has been taking active part in strategic policies that have brought about significant improvement in service deliveries by Lagos State agencies and the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service in particular.
The trustworthy and dedicated Tayo Ayinde is a holder of Master’s Degree (MBA) in Financial Management from Lagos State University. He also attended University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management, where he undertook a course in Strategic Thinking Approach.
He likewise attended the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School for a Course of Study in Business Model Innovation. The quest for further knowledge propelled Tayo Ayinde to enroll at Harvard Business School, Boston, USA, where he studied Strategic Financial Analysis for Business Evaluation.
Ayinde had also attended
professional training on VIP protection and anti-terrorism in the best Institutions in Israel and the UK. He is a
Fellow of Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management and an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation.
He joined partisan politics in 2009 and had served as a two term Director- General for Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat’s Independent Campaign Group in 2019 and 2023,. He had also served as the Chairman of the Inauguration Committee of Governor Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat Kadri in 2019 as well as 2023.
Tayo Ayinde has done enough to impact many lives positively. He has alao been of immense service to humanity in diverse ways.
He has undoubtedly brought some innovative initiatives into the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State. He, therefore merits the Award of Triangle Innovative Public Servant of The Year 2023.
