It is not by Human Power but by the Grace of the Divine that Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Akinola Omole, Member Ondo State House of Assembly representing Akoko South-West Constituency 1 has seen Five Decades of what can be described as years of blessings and divine providence on the surface of the earth.
More amazing is the realization that he has journeyed from a humble beginning to become a highly celebrated influential figure in the state,a figure with dashing and brilliant personality which is worthy to be emulated by many.
He leads a generation of people who have risen against the odds with pure determination and grit to making a name for himself and establishing a place for himself in the world of men,he embodies astonishing qualities and features which ranks him as a well born and bred OMOLUABI.
His political foray in the State has not just presented him numerous opportunities to advance the society through polity,it has also earned him a seat among the political gladiators in the State.
Despite the competitiveness of the Nation’s political arena,Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Omole, remains one of the most sought after politician and perhaps,one of the few most significant of the young progressives hue in the State.He has over the decades become a political brand which everyone wants to be identified with given his result oriented political track record,his steadfast commitment to finding solutions to political challenges and his amiable qualities which endears many to him.
The highly respected Lawmaker in the State can be described as a coconut blessed with the divine task to be fruitful and useful to humanity,and like the Palm Tree rooted by the River side he has continued to thrive and prosper even beyond the wildest expectations of all.
Going through the history lane, Hon. Akogun Olugbenga Omole who is also the Spokesperson and the Chairman,House Committee on Information,Youth and Sports Development was born 50 years ago to the family of the late Jacobs Oloruntosin Omole of Isunodo, Osan Agba Oka.
He attended the University of Ilorin, Ilori where he bagged a B.Sc Degree in Geography and also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko.
He has been opportune to serve in various offices over the decades, among these offices are, Camp Commandant and Welfare Officer, Sunshine Stars Football Club between 2009 and 2011 and he brought his personality as a highly disciplined individual into his job and this was part of the reason why Sunshine Stars Football Club got a Continental Ticket.
He was also the Education Secretary of Akoko South West Local Government area for a period of Nine Remarkable Months,a position he later resigned and contested for a seat in the State House of Assembly which he won overwhelmingly.
Prior to these,he once served as the Personal Assistant in the office of Youth and Union Matters to former Governor of Ondo State Chief Adebayo Adefarati of blessed memory.
After the end of Adefarati regime he joined forces with other Progressives to berth ACN in Ondo State.
He served as the Aketi Coordinator in 2012 and 2016 for Akoko South West Local Government when the Governor was seeking election to be Governor. Also, he served as a member in the Inauguration Committee of Governor Akeredolu both in 2017 and 2021 as Vice Chairman Sub-Committee Media and Publicity as well as Venue committee.
These various political strides and history coupled with the various achievements recorded in these various capacities have seen him become a politician that any serious contender will like to be in his camp.He’s a workaholic who always aim to achieve success even with the least push
Hon. Omole was the Chief Executive Officer of an award winning company, Hero Communication, and Events Management before his resignation and is devoted to the management of his family’s expansive farming business,the Akogun Farms Nigeria Limited, where he is the Chief Executive Officer of the Enterprise.
Aside serving as the spokesperson of the Ondo State House of Assembly, and the Chairman of House Committee on Information, Youth and Sports Development, he is also the Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructures, Vice Chairman Committee on Commerce and Industriy, Member House Committee on Government House and Protocol, Member, House Committee on Procurement and Special Duties; Member,House Committee on Cash Allocation and Welfare; Member, House Committee on Finance and Appropriations; Member, House Committee on Judiciary, Public Petitions, Establishments and Service Matters; Member Committee on Security,Culture,Tourism and Cooperative Societies; Member Committee on OSOPADEC.
Also, over the years he had been a recipient of many awards, too numerous to mention but some of which are: Grassroots Development Award by the Publisher of Trace Magazine, Ondo State Legislator of the Year and Emerging Leader of the year 2019, Commander of the Christian Faith African Church, Oka Akoko Diocese, Outstanding Leadership Award by Hero Magazine in 2019.
The Annual Akogun Football Cup in Akoko which is always sponsored by him is one of his numerous platforms to actively engaging the youths in the State.His love for Sport which has seen him engage Football as a viable means to engaging youths as seen him establish two football clubs, the Akogun Football Club and the Akogun U-17 Football Club.
One of the event which has been scheduled to highlight his 50th Birthday Anniversary is that, together with his wife,they would be conferred with the Chieftaincy Titles of the Akogun and Yeye Akogun of Oka Land by the highly respected and revered Monarch of Oka,the Olubaka of Oka,Oba (Dr.) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye OON.
Other activities lined up for his 50th birthday anniversary includes: visiting and donating foodstuffs, medications and other essential commodities to selected orphanage home in Ondo State, which includes: the Motherless Babies Home in Oba-Ile Road Akure, Daughters of Charity Home for Vulnerable Adult and Children, Ayepe Oka.
Furthermore, 50 Balls will be donated to Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure.Another event in the one week celebration is a Football Match between Oka Youth Forum and the Winner of the 2021 edition of Akogun Annual Football Competition, Akogun Olugbenga will be playing on the side of the Youths..One of the major highlights of the Birthday Programme is the Conferment of the Chieftaincy Title which will be followed by a Thanksgiving at Ebenezer African Church Agba Oka.
The grand event of the birthday anniversary will be the turning of the sod of a World Class Football Academy which will be sitting on a 50 Acres of land in Oka Akoko.
The lawmaker who is considered as one of the most experienced politician in the 9th Assembly who been actively involved in the politics of the state for well over 20 years is leaving no stone unturned to treat his friends,well wishers and guests who will be coming to celebrate him to a once in a lifetime hospitality as he also seek to express his gratitude to the Almighty God for making him see the day in sound health.
