Away from the controversies which the Aheregbe festival which is currently being observed in Akure generated, it is important that the Traditional Institution as well as the State government take proactive step to ensuring that this cultural celebration does not transform to a means to which criminals exploits to carry out their devious activities.
For Hoodlums to have gone to the ShopRite today to cart away valuable items from the facilities all in the name of celebrating Aheregbe festival, there is a need for an immediate address from the Deji of Akure as well as the State government.
We cannot allow ourselves have a repeat of histories that will set us down the slippery slope again.
