Alleged Blasphemy: Tunji Abayomi condemns killing of Deborah Samuel in Sokoto




Human Rights Activist and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji  Abayomi has condemned the barbaric act of burning Miss Deborah Samuel alive, a student of Shehu Shahari College of Education, Sokoto.


Abayomi in a statement described the act as evil, cruel and barbaric.

Yakubu was set ablaze by her course mates who accused her of blasphemy to Prophet Muhammed.


The Human Rights Activist who expressed concern over the issue said those who keep talking and talking of the so called “blasphemy” should please tell us what a 22 year old innocent girl said without premeditated malice against Islam that will warrant the extreme cruelty of stoning her to death in an education institution funded by the State


“What did she say to warrant the burning of her dead body after the cruelty with 8 tires. Where is conscience in the Islam of his killers? In the name of God tell us if your daughter should deserve such barbarity?, he asked.
