- He hails from Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore LGA of Ondo State.
- He was born in the ancient Owo city on Feb 17, 1976.
- He studied petroleum engineering in University of Benin where he graduated with 2.1.
- While in the university, he served as president of Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association (NUESA), member of students union parliament and vice chairman of the university Congress of Masses. He stopped handouts imposition, sexual harassment of female students and other exploitations. His sterling performance convinced the students to make him SUG president which the school management unjustly aborted for fear of his leadership prowess and courage to challenge injustice. The ensuing unprecedented and protracted unrests by nearly 100% population of the students changed the university in many ways.
- Razaq Obe obtained MSc in oil and gas project management from the red brick University of Liverpool in 2012. He’s currently a doctoral researcher at Edinburgh Business School, Herriot Watt University.
- Razaq joined Globacom Nigeria in 2007 as management executive. He served at Nigerian Gas Company, Warri, a subsidiary of NNPC.
- On September 1, 2008 he was hired as senior field operations procurement advisor by ExxonMobil where he elected to retire early on Sept 1, 2021 after 13 years as operations contract manager.
- While in ExxonMobil, Razaq Obe served for three years as head of senior staff, member of board of ExxonMobil employees savings and pensions funds, and member ministerial committee on contract staffing in Nigerian oil and gas industry chaired by Labour minister of state.
- Razaq Obe is a philanthropist who’s sponsored and supported tens of students in tertiary institutions.
