UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES TEACHING HOSPITAL COMPLEX (UNIMEDTHC) CHIEF MEDICAL DIRECTOR BAGS OUTSTANDING HEALTH PERSONALITY AWARD OF THE YEAR
In a bid to celebrate excellent performance and outstanding people in our society as well as motivating the indigenes of Ondo state to in their various areas endeavours, the Ondo state Leadership Award Platform and publisher of Hero Magazine presented an award of Health Personality of the year 2019 to Dr Oluwole Ige, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of University of Medical Science and Teaching Hospital Complex, Ondo state (UNIMEDTHC) for his outstanding performance in the Health sector and putting in place a state of art Teaching Hospital in Ondo state.
The award was done on 17th December, 2019 in the international center, The DOME, when the coordinator of the Leadership award platform, Hon. Segun Odidi stated the philosophy behind the award presentation that it is a way of celebrating outstanding personality in Ondo state. Also he explained that it will serve as a model of to celebrate excellence for our younger generation to understand the importance of dignity in labour. He appreciated the awardee for taken a giant stride in the area of infrastructural development in the teaching hospital and also encouraged him to keep the good work going.
In his response, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) appreciated Almighty God, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), the management and staff of Teaching Hospital for their contributions to this achievement. He also appreciated the Leadership Award platform for their effort which he sees as a as springboard to deliver more.
Dr. Oluwole Ige lauded the present administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his commitment in putting in place a state of the art Teaching Hospital for the State’s University of Medical Sciences. He said the award will be an impetus for individual and corporate organizations to put more effort in terms of growth and development which will better the lots of our society.
He advised the organization of Leadership award platform to engage in a more critical oversight functions by checkmating as well, thorough giving advice appropriately when necessarily for a wholesome improvement in our society. According to him, he outlined progress been achieved so far in the hospital saying ‘more health service area has been opened up compare to the past, secondary health care services has been upgraded to a tertiary level with creation of more friendly environment to improve productivity and also employment generation cannot be overemphasized’.
