I write with a heavy heart on the sudden and untimely death of our dear Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.
We have indeed lost a fearless leader, a courageous politician, and a dogged fighter.
Governor Akeredolu was there for us when the entire Southwestern Nigeria needed someone to take a courageous step in building our security architecture. Even at the detriment of his political ambition, he stood, spoke, and defended the interest of his people. The entire Nigeria, Southwestern Nigeria and Ondo State in particular will definitely miss him.
Aketi was a great personality. He was tenacious, fearless and courageous. The memory of the righteous is blessed. He may be gone, but his memory will forever remain indelible with us. He left a good and great imprint in our hearts with his outspokenness, love for the people, and sacrifice. The bold step he took in the establishment of Amotekun Security Corp was a major boost to the security architecture of the State and the entire South West .
My heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the Owo Kingdom, the entire Ondo State and Nigeria for the loss of this illustrious personality. May the good Lord forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest.
