**PURPORTED RESOLUTION OF PDP OKITIPUPA LOCAL GOVERNMENT GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND NOT BINDING* .
As firm believers in the letters of law ,one would have believed that we won’t match the law in the face .It is the case when one follows to the last letters, prescriptions of the constitution of party .It is safe to state that a shadow election should have the executives of the party both at the ward ,local,senatorial and state partake in the process .These are delegates or voters in the party ,but not limited to them. Today ,being the 30th day of April ,2020 witnessed an event that one could term an aberration .Let me explain to you.
Aspirants under the platform of the peoples Democratic Party from the Okitipupa Lg area had gathered to discuss the fortune and development of the party in the State ,and the forthcoming guber election in the state. Only 5 of them from the lg were present ,namely Senator Boluwaji Kunlere, Dr Eddy Olafeso, Otunba Dele Akingboye,Engr Ogunwa Oboli and Barr Bimpe Olatemiju .
At the meeting ,Engr Ogunwa and Barr Olatemiju agreed to throw their weight behind Dr Eddy Olafeso,while the duo Senator Boluwaji Kunlere and Otunba Dele Akingboye reinforced their convictions and readiness to pursue their ambition to logical conclusion .I do not begrudge their Democratic rights to support whoever they so wish .I am not aware that SBK stepped down for Dr Eddy or anyone .
As earlier stated ,Shadow primaries are usually conducted by Party leaders ,while voters and delegates are made to make their choices.This wasn’t the case as witnessed today .
It is must be clearly stated again that only Engr Ogunwa Oboli and Barr Bimpe Olatemiju agreed to work with Dr Eddy Olafeso and that doesn’t translate to uniform understanding of all other aspirants.
However, we want to appeal to the teeming supporters , followers and the general public to maintain their calm ,as Senator Boluwaji Kunlere SBK is still very much in the race ,would obtain the party’s nomination form and participate in the party’s primaries as demanded by the party’s constitution.
