PDP accuses Adefisoye of campaign of calumny
…seeks police intervention
Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party have accused the member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, of campaign of calumny against its candidate in the federal constituency, Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest.
The Party made this known during a media conference with journalists in Akure, the Ondo State Capital on Thursday.
According to the Director Idanre local government PDP, Media and Publicity Secretary, Fasoranti Adeyemi Raymond, Adefisoye bas resorted to character assassination and condemnation of its candidate in the federal constituency.
They alleged that Adefisoye stated via his social media platform that, “I hear say the PDP candidate don buy plenty guns for my constituency” and “Instead make this Egbon go hide those guns. He dey report me up and down.Dey form Pity Politics up & down. We know where you keep those guns and the guys. Time shall tell”.
The Party stated, “this act of Hon. Adefisoye is so demeaning and calamitous to the Federal constituency as Ifedore Local Government is still nursing the wound of their lost son especially during the last election campaign at Ibule in Ifedore local government.
“Hon. Festus Akingbaso Fessywest, the PDP candidate for Idanre/Ifedore is a peaceful man who puts the welfare of human beings as his major priority. His caring heart is demonstrated in his giant projects across the constituency.
“The PDP urge the general public to disregard this cheap blackmail and also be aware of the shenanigans and plots of Small Alhaji to import guns and other deadly weapons into the circulation considering his past deals especially during the last election campaign.
“We also call on security agencies to swift into proactive investigation into the matter as this uncircumcised act of the MHR could lead to violence before, during and after the election.”
