OTA ABEOKUTA ROAD: SEN. TOLU ODEBIYI ASSURES FASHOLA OF ALL NECESSARY LEGISLATIVE BACKING

News

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen. Tolu Odebiyi said that he will ensure that all necessary legislative support is given to the Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in fixing the Ota-Abeokuta and Ota-Idiroko roads.

Sen. Odebiyi made this assertion in a press release sent to Press Men on Thursday, 16th September 2021 in Abuja.

While commending the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing under the supervision of His Excellency, Raji Fashola for his novel ideas and quick intervention, the Ogun West Senator who is deeply upset and worried by the deplorable state of Ota-Abeokuta and Ota-Idiroko roads said that, “I want to assure the Minister of Works and Housing, His Excellency Babatunde Raji Fashola that all necessary legislative support, funding and other assistance will be given to the Ministry to find lasting solutions to the challenges Commuters and residents are facing on the roads”.

Sen. Odebiyi regrets that despite his efforts in the last two years in the Senate to get the government to fix the Ota-Abeokuta road which had been in a very terrible condition for over two decades should be receiving attention shortly.

“I have moved several motions of urgent public importance and written letters to the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing regarding fixing the roads that connect Nigeria to the Republic of Benin”.

“The increased SUKUK funding and collaborative efforts with the National Assembly and other Stakeholders would further ensure quick action on the road which has additional addendum that covers Ota-Idiroko”.

The Senator who is also the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expresses optimism that the coming on board of the Chairman of Globacom, Chief Mike Adenuga to reconstruct the Sango-Owode-Idiroko road will give Commuters on that road a sense of pride, respect and dignity as well as further improve the socio-economic development of the area.
