The atmosphere in Ile-oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency was filled with praises earlier today, as beneficiaries of the empowerment program initiated by Member House of Representatives, Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, could not contain their joy.
Hundreds of beneficiaries across the two local governments that make up the Constituency were empowered with, A Tractor, Cars, Motorcycles, Sewing machines, Generators, Grinding machines , Mini plough and ridger as well as clippers. Others benefitted in cash as a financial support for their businesses.
While appreciating the initiative, Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government APC Chairman, Mr Rufus Adefulire thanked Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin for his magnanimity and for always identifying with his people in his constituency and making sure that they enjoy the dividends of democracy. Similarly, Odigbo Local Government party chairman Mr Fatai Olawale also appreciated the lawmaker for always embarking on laudable projects and always in touch with his constituents.
Earlier in his statement during the distribution of the items in his country home, Odigbo, Hon. Akinfolarin stated that the empowerment program becomes important in order to help a good number of people in the constituency to become self-sufficient. He appreciated all party members for their supports during his last contest for the South Senatorial seat even though he was not happy with the way it went but he has no option than to abide by the principle of party supremacy. He went ahead to announce the distribution of one motorcycle each for each of the ward chairman despite the fact that some of them didn’t support him. He also announced one Toyota Camry (Muscle Camry) each to the two LG party chairmen and one Volkswagen Sharon goes to HON Samson Akindulire (Washasha). He admonished all party members to work assiduously for the victory of all party candidates across board.
“I want you all to know that this initiative is part of our strategies to improve the standard of living here in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal Constituency.He opined that this empowerment programme also target farmers in other to make farming more friendly, hence the reason for the distribution of tractor and mini tiller and plough as well as motorcycles.
“It is equally a rescue mission indeed, because while equipping our artisans, famers, traders and youths to be self-reliant and self-sufficient, we are also contributing to economic prosperity in our constituency and country at large”.
He further urged the beneficiaries to make use of the items according to the goal of the empowerment program.
“I want to urge all beneficiaries to make good use of these items so that the goal behind it will not be defeated. It will be our joy that even the people around you would benefit from the results of this empowerment, because that is the ultimate goal”.
