Ahead of Ondo State Football Association (F.A) election Otunba Akinsola Akinbobola has visited the former NFF Board Member, Otunba Dele Ajayi (who is also a co-contenstant in the race) at his Fiwasaye Roundabout, along Oba-Ile road office in Akure, the state capital.
The former Chairman of Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) said the visit is one of his shuttle visits to fellow contestants and that this one is special because it afford him an opportunity to formally inform the former State FA boss of his intention to run for the number one football office in the State.
He said, Otunba Dele Ajayi is a great man that has contributed immensely in the administration and development of the game in Ondo state and Nigeria having served in the state FA for twelve years both as deputy chairman and as chairman and having served as an NFF Executive member..
According to him, “this visit is beyond the forthcoming election, but a brotherly visit on how to work together with others for the interest of football in Ondo state.”
The time to re-awaken football development in the state is now and Otunba Dele Ajayi is one of such leaders that you can’t but visit in a time like this despite the fact that we are contesting same seat, he is a man to consult”.
While responding, Otunba Dele Ajayi thanked the former ODSFA boss for the visit saying “i am glad to receive Akin Akinbobola in my office, we have discussed extensively about Ondo state Football, it’s very interesting having such a meeting at this special time”
He said: “the visit was a sign of maturity in our football polity and the friendliness that the game of football stand for. He said the development of our people, to him comes first above any personal goals.
