ONDO 2020: ZLP AND PDP PLANS FOR COALITION INTENSIFIES AS GROUP MEETS OBASANJO

The October 10 Gubernatorial election in Ondo State continues to get more heat as the parties involved has continued to making frantic efforts to emerging victorious at the election.
In a recent development, the leaders of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Zenith Labor Congress (ZLP) met in Ota, Ogun State with the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo as both parties seeks to adopt a consensus candidate to trump the incumbent Governor of Ondo Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
It’s reported that the Olusegun Mimiko had stated that the chances of Eyitayo Jedege in winning the Ondo Gubernatorial election is slim in the State as the candidate is only popular in the central against the popularity of the Candidate of the Zenith Labor Party Agboola Ajayi who is generally more accepted in the State. It’s the opinion of Olusegun Mimiko that it will be the best for them all for the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party to step down for Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labor Congress.
While this was rejected by the other side, the group are yet to come to a conclusion which has led to the setting up of a committee to look into the issue and come up with a resolution within the next 72 hours.
Meanwhile the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has been making efforts within the People’s Democratic Party to woo other PDP Governors to support Eyitayo Jegede.
