Lawmakers in the Ondo State House of Assembly have described the death of a renowned journalist, Olubunmi Afuye, as a colossal loss to the journalism profession.

In a release signed by Chairman House Committee on Information Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Olugbenga Omole, the House of Assembly described Bunmi Afuye as a Frontline journalist endowed with brilliant ideals and character.

” Afuye during his lifetime was a journalist of no mean repute. He carried himself with candour in while doing that which he new how best to do”

“This death is yet a recount of the overwhelming insecurity situation across the country,” Omole noted.

He added that the vacuum created by Afuye’s demise will be difficult to fill in the journalism practice in Ondo State.

Olubunmi Afuye and two others were reportedly killed in a robbery incident at Ilara-mokin in Ifedore Local Government area of Ondo State.

The House of Assembly prays that God will repose his soul and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
