Lagos State University, Ojo Dr Adeyinka Olarinmoye has showered encomium on Nigeria’s President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his 71st birthday today March 29, 2023.
In an exclusive interview with The Matrix Newspaper, Olarinmoye hailed the landmark achievements of the former Lagos State Governor in different strata of life.
She recalled with nostalgia his landmark achievement in the education sector when he was governor of the state, a quality which she said endeared him to her and a dream come true for her personally when he was elected as president in the February 25, 2023, presidential election in the country.
“I congratulate the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 71st birthday. If you consider his many impacts in different areas of Nigerians’ lives, especially, in the education sector when he was the governor of Lagos State.
It was these trademark achievements that made me support his presidential aspiration even before he declared for it” she enthused.
Olarinmoye who served as the Director of Education of the Independent Campaign Council, Tinubu/Shettima and Sanwoolu/Hamzat eulogized Tinubu for his brilliant performance as the administrator of Lagos state between 1999 and 2007.
“It is worthy to note that the education policy in Lagos State became a standard that other states in the country had to borrow from.
He was detribalized in his government’s policy of giving free WAEC forms to all secondary school students regardless of their ethnic extractions” she disclosed.
She also noted his contributions to the Lagos State University, which had enabled the institution to be highly ranked among the state universities in Nigeria.
“And he hasn’t stopped! With a billion-naira donation, for the establishment of the Center for Leadership Study, at the last convocation of the University. It was the template he left that successive governors have continued to build on.
While wishing him a successful future tenure as the president of the nation, she equally implored the president-elect to consider looking at the sides of women and youths in his administration, and also involve the academia and researchers from the intelligentsia as a pivotal part of his governance plan.
“Long live our Jagaban! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria” she hailed.
