ODIMAYO GETS ROUSING RECEPTION FROM CONSTITUENTS FOLLOWING APC PRIMARY VICTORY, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO QUALITY REPRESENTATION
…Lauds constituents, NWC, Minister Tunji-Ojo, stakeholders; pledges unity, development-driven leadership for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency
The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Population and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 General Elections, Hon. (Omo’ba) Okunjimi John Odimayo, on Friday received a rousing welcome in his home town, Ode-Irele, from party leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders, supporters and constituents following his emergence as the APC candidate.
Addressing the gathering, Odimayo expressed profound appreciation to the people of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency and the APC family for their unwavering support, loyalty and confidence in him before, during and after the party’s primary election.
He also commended the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC, led by Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for its leadership and commitment to justice and fairness throughout the primary process.
Odimayo further appreciated the party’s Appeal Committee for its diligent review of the concerns raised by party members, ensuring that the wishes of the majority prevailed.
The lawmaker acknowledged the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his steadfast support and exemplary leadership, describing him as “a round peg in a round hole” whose contributions continue to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Reaffirming his commitment to effective and people-oriented representation, Odimayo stated that the victory belongs to every member of the APC and the entire people of the constituency, irrespective of political differences.
He pledged to continue attracting impactful projects and programmes that would improve the welfare of the people.
Highlighting some of his achievements in office, the lawmaker listed the employment of 42 youths across Okitipupa and Irele Local Government Areas into the Federal Civil Service, the construction of the 2-kilometre Igbisin–Oloto–Sabomi Road, the Olofoyekun/Ojomo Road in Ode-Irele, the establishment of a solar-powered modern medical laboratory centre, the construction of a six-classroom block at Arerin Grammar School, as well as several other developmental projects executed across the constituency.
He further disclosed that the construction of a 20-bed ultra-modern hospital in Ode-Irele is progressing steadily and assured constituents of its timely completion, adding that the remodelling of the Idepe Town Hall will commence later this month.
Odimayo revealed that plans had been concluded for a mega empowerment programme designed to benefit party faithful and constituents across the federal constituency.
According to him, by the end of his tenure, the people would have every reason to be proud of the confidence they reposed in him.
The APC candidate also disclosed that he had reached out to other aspirants who contested the party’s primary election, assuring them of his readiness to work with everyone in the interest of party unity and victory in the 2027 General Elections.
Reflecting on his experience during the APC governorship primary election in Ondo State,
Odimayo recalled that despite his reservations about the exercise, he accepted its outcome in the interest of the party and worked tirelessly for the victory of the APC in the governorship election.
He urged all aggrieved members to emulate the same spirit of sportsmanship by placing the party’s collective interest above personal ambitions.
The finance expert further called on the people of the constituency to sustain their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda is laying a solid foundation for national development and economic recovery.
Earlier in his remarks, a prominent APC chieftain in Okitipupa Local Government and Director-General of the Odimayo Political Group, Chief Wole Akeremale, commended Odimayo for his outstanding leadership and quality representation, stating that he has justified the confidence reposed in him by the people.
Chief Akeremale urged party members to remain united and avoid actions capable of undermining the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking on behalf of APC leaders, the Akinnusi of Irele Kingdom, Chief Femi Moyegun, called on party faithful to embrace the decision of the APC National Working Committee and work together for the continued success of the party while congratulating Hon. Odimayo on his emergence.
Also speaking, the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, represented by a former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly for Irele Constituency and the Aruwayo of Akotogbo Kingdom, Hon. Chief Afolabi Iwalewa, congratulated Odimayo on his victory and urged him to continue fostering unity among party members.
He stressed the need for members to place the interest of the APC above personal considerations and work collectively for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Odimayo and all APC candidates in the 2027 General Elections.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Publisher of Hero Magazine International, Dr. Akinbiola, expressed appreciation to the people of Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency for the massive turnout and overwhelming show of support.
He described the reception as a clear demonstration of the people’s confidence in Odimayo’s leadership.
He also commended Hon. Odimayo for his outstanding performance in office and appreciated the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his unwavering support and commitment to the growth of the APC in Ondo State.
In her closing prayer, the APC Women Leader in Irele Local Government, Mrs. Kekereowo Elfilda, prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection and success for Hon. Odimayo and the APC in the 2027 General Elections.
