Southern Ijaw—A Bayelsa-born philanthropist, Michael Bless Olomu, through the Michael Olomu Foundation on Friday, commissioned a renovated seven-block classroom in Amatolo community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Olomu who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency election made this known on Friday via Facebook

According to him, “in 2009, I was opportune to visit Amatolo Community in Southern Ijaw LGA, Bayelsa State, with some friends and family to pay the bride price of my wife, Dr. Tonyo Michael-Olomu

“The community gave me their beautiful daughter and thirteen years later, the team at Michael Olomu Foundation, deemed it wise to visit the same community to distribute educational materials to students at Ogboin Grammar School.

“Sadly, the team met an abandoned and dilapidated building and library. This got our foundation worried as the learning environment of the school, which forms the crux of education, was an eyesore. This drove us to begin the renovation of the seven classroom blocks as a matter of urgency.

“I saw this as a grand opportunity to give back to the Community which gave me a blessing for a wife and partner.”

Olomu who expressed gratitude to his wife also appreciated the foundation’s management and staff for sharing his vision.
