MAGICAL WORKS OF AKETI ON ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE

It will not be out of place to posit that Ondo State since its creation in 1976 has never has it this good as far as massive infrastructural development is concerned. Even the worst of critics of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu cannot deny the fact that the Governor has not out performed all his predecessors in road construction. It is now a fact that the kilometers of roads already constructed my Governor Akeredolu in just three years is more than that of all his predecessors put together from 1999 till date.

Akeredolu has undertaken landmark projects that were hitherto thought to be impossible and practically turned Ondo State into a huge construction site. One very commendable thing on the giant strides of Aketi on road construction is the fact that all the completed and ongoing projects cut across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State. The awkwardly hilly Oke Alabojuto in Ikare Akoko that had in the past led to the death of many innocent people has now been reduced to a level ground of 0.5 kilometer dualized road.

Interestingly, the construction of first ever interchange bridge in Ondo State on Benin/Ore expressway has been undertaken
by Aketi and the project is due for commissioning any moment. This is without doubt a landmark infrastructural achievement by the administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the Ondo South Senatorial District of the Sunshine State.

Another flagship road project initiated and completed by Arakunrin Akeredolu is the construction of 8.135km dual carriageway from Oba Adesida (A Division) to Oba Osupa (Hospital) Road-Oluwatuyi-Ijoka. Other flagship projects of Aketi is the
40km Araromi (Ondo state) – Lekki (Lagos state) road which is a partnership project between NDDC and Ondo State government. The administration of Akeredolu has also awarded 16.2 kilometer road from Idanre to ijoka and installation of street light along Owo dualized roads.

Aketi has also delivered on the
construction of 2.5km GRA roads and construction of Iyere/Igbe road in Owo. Also, the construction of 3.50km Iyere/Ipele road in Owo, 9km Melege Junction-Ute township road and the dualization of 4.273km road from Emure junction to AUD and 2.963km road from the Ministry of Works to Iyere junction , Owo had since been completed.

Remarkably, the administration of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu had likewise embarked on the phase 2
dualization of Ikare township road and construction of 5.569km Gaga community township road are already nearing completion. The
construction of 10km Okitipupa – Igbokoda bypass road phase 1,
2.3km Sabomi-Ajagba Road and box culvert, channels, drains and approaches at Ore are testimonies of revolutionary efforts of Akeredolu in infrastructural development.

Similarly, the government of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has also embarked on the construction of selected 2.76km roads in Idanre,
construction of Iwalewa-Alafiaatayo, Iwalewa-Oshinle, Iwalewa-Hospital road and Abusoro road, Ijoka Phase 1. In addition, Aketi equally deserves credit for the
construction of 3 number box culverts in Ikare Akoko, box culvert and a bridge along Oba-Akoko-Ikun road as well as the construction of box culvert at Aralepo in Owo. Also to the credit of Aketi is the construction of Army Barracks Network rods in Akure,
construction/rehabilitation of 2.817km Ijapo Housing Estate road,
construction of 6.02km Alagbaka SIB-Appeal Court road and the construction of terminal building access road/parking lot at Akure Airport.

The list of constructed roads in Ondo State appears endless as Akeredolu is determined to rid the Sunshine State of bad roads. He has also undertaken the construction of Iyere – Ipele – Idoani road; access road in powderize egg factory at Emure, construction of Ondo Boys High school internal road network; dualization of CBN road in Akure; construction of Subeb Sijuade road in Akure; ongoing construction of Orita Obele -OkeOdu road in Akure; repair of approach slabs of Alape and Aboto bridge in Ilaje and the dualization of 5.5km phase 1 Ondo township road.

Aside massive construction of roads across the three Senatorial Districts of Ondo State, the administration of Arakunrin Akeredolu has also undertaken massive rehabilitation of roads in all nooks and crannies of the Sunshine State. Patching of selected roads in Akure township, rehabilitation of 0.5km Ore township (Mobil-Sabo Juntion and rehabilitation/construction of 5.25km Ile-Oluji township road are testimonies of quality performance by Aketi. Moreso, the rehabilitation of selected 2.063km roads in Ifon, rehabilitation of 1.448km Oke Afa road in Supare and the rehabilitation of 2.358km Lennon Jubile-Solaco road- Ugbe road in Ikare are all to the credit of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Administration of Governor Akeredolu has since completed the
rehabilitation of 900m and 21.8km
failed portions along Iwaro-Oka-Isua road, the
rehabilitation of 35km Owo-Ikare road and rehabilitation of 3.1km Igbara-Oke-Isharun and Isharun township road.
Remarkably, the rehabilitation of 8.1km Igbara-Oke-Ibuji road,
rehabilitation/construction of 5.412km Oke-Ogba community road as well as the reconstruction of 8.50km Bolorunduro to Fagbo road in Ondo East are all evidences of great performance by the administration of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.

The rehabilitation strides of Akeredolu has also been clearly felt on the 4.3km Ondo dual carriage road, Phase 11, lighting/rehabiitation of 8.950km Mobil Fiwasaye-Airport Road, selected 7.11km roads in Ondo town and 1.89km access roads to Royal Birds Motel/Kayode, Adinlewa Alagbaka in Akure.

As at the last count, over 43 major road projects have either been completed or still ongoing in Ondo State while the Aketi is still itching to give approval to new ones. Ondo State is truly lucky to have a performing Governor like Arakunrin Akeredolu. He has conscientiously ensured that the money of the State
is being deployed for all round development of the Sunshine State.
