Labour Party: Sogunle reacts to allegations against Doyin Okupe

The Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party in Ogun State, Kehinde Sogunle, has reacted to the allegations levied by a group in the Party against the Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, Doyin Okupe.

A press statement signed by the State Chairman of the Labour Party in Ogun State, Michael Ashade, had accused Okupe of “political rascality and financial recklessness”.

Reacting to the allegations, Sogunle in an interview with newsmen on Thursday stated that the accusations levied against Doyin Okupe are baseless as they lack no iota of truth.

According to him, those behind the allegations were sponsored by the Executive Governor of the State, Dapo Abiodun who is seeking to cause division in the Party.

While berating those behind the allegations, he said, ” it is quite sad to see individuals who should be driving the affairs of the party positively well resorting to cheap propagandas and baseless issues against their Party men.

“Of all issues which the Party should be pushing for in the coming election, they have chosen to stoop so low to be raising propaganda that someone did not pay six months rest.

“This is a shame and it’s counter productive of the efforts of the Labour Party which Nigerians are looking up to for a difference in the coming 2023 elections.” He stated.

He however urged them to desist from these attacks while also enjoining them to turn a new leaf.
