Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, federal lawmaker representing Akoko North East and North West Federal Constituency has condemned the massacre of Ondo State indigenes who were murdered in Plateau State yesterday.
BTO who regretted the unfortunate incident where 22 travellers believed to be travelling to Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, were killed at Rukuba road area of Jos North Local Area of Plateau State on Saturday, 14th of August 2021, described it as “unfortunate.”
The Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in a statement by his Special Adviser on New Media, Alao Babatunde, condemned the act which he tagged as henious and totally evil.
According to him, all Nigerians should have the confidence and liberty to access any part of the federation without fear or intimidation.
In his words, “I’ve not been able to wrap my thoughts around the sad incident since yesterday. Obviously, we are living in dangerous times in Nigeria and unfortunately it’s everywhere.
While sympathizing with the people of Akoko over the killings, the Lawmaker enjoined them not to take laws into their hands as this he said would only further aggravate the situation
BTO also urged security agencies to be on top of the situation and bring the culprits to justice, while pleading for calm and peace.
