…reels out achievements as he celebrates 7 years on the throne
His Royal Majesty Oba David Olajide Okunato, Ilufemiloye 1, the Iresi of Osi has revealed that his led leadership had done immensely well to compliment the contributions of the Ondo State Government towards the growth and development of the community.
According to him, the town hall of which is highly noted as a agrarian community has been opened up for more economical and Industrial growth within the last seven years when he was installed as the Traditional ruler of the community.
Oba David Olajide Okunato, revealed that with the support and the cordial relationship between him and the people, they have been able to properly reposition the town for growth, harnessing the various resources of the town to make life meaningful for its sons and daughters.
In his words, “With the help and cordial relationship of my people which I do enjoy has made my seven years on the throne full of numerous achievements. Osi was once what I can call hamlet or village but now it’s a town to be reckoned with. In 2015, I opened the road, built police division station which was also commissioned, we shared transmitter with Igoba before I bought 500KV transmitter and ran high tension so that Osi can enjoy more power supply.”
“In Osi we have our own customized pre-paid meters. I fixed street lights. I renovated our health center to standard and built 3 bedrooms self-contained for Doctors and Nurses working in our primary health center. Also, the Magistrate Court. We proposed site about 24 plots for our secondary school which will soon commence. In a bid to bring Osi to limelight I built my own private company, Lumintech, a solar system manufacturing company in the town, which attracts people from nooks and crannies of the country to Osi”
He also stated that he has facilitated the installation of customized Prepared meters, fixed street lights, renovated the health center and built a 3 bedroom self contained for Doctors and Nurses working in the health facility.
According to him, “In terms of security, have built a divisional police station in Osi. Not only that, I gave zone 17 fifty50 plots of land, sponsored the project, and built startup office for them which I spent millions of naira on, zone 17 is Ondo/Ekiti zonal command, so it is the Federal government project, I just did that project in supporting the government, I didn’t collect a dime for it.”
The Traditional Monarch also stated that there are more plans to facilitate more projects in the community, some of which are, the building of a new secondary school and also the creation of a world standard internet hub which will place the community on the global map.
Oba David Olajide Okunato also explained the need for communities to not only depend on the contributions of the State Government but should also consider indigenous ways of advancing their course. He also called the attention of the Ondo State Government to help the community complete the construction of its road to the express, a virgin land which they have constructed but is yet to be tarred.
