IFE OYEDELE : LIGHT THAT ILLUMINATES A NATION
Apart from the various numerous mineral and natural resources in Ondo State which has placed the Sunshine State on the world map, the State has also been blessed with a colorful arrays of illustrious sons and daughters who over the years have from the lowest echelon of our societies; from the most of humble beginnings to etching for themselves a name for themselves on the global scene. More than the bliss that can be offered by Gold or Silver, these sons and daughters of the soil has given a beam of hope to the coming generations that success is for everyone who will dare to dream; who will dare to reach for the stars. Through these sons and daughters across the state’s 18 Local Government areas, giants strides has been witnessed in these communities through the intentional and conscious activities of this category of people who has used their place, wealth and experience to advance their respective communities.
Many among these men is Ife Oyedele, a son of the soil who has risen through the ranks to making a name for himself in the world of men. His six decades on the face of the earth has seen him create a brand out of his name, as he has channeled his strength and resources to the advancement of his community and humanities.
Born on the 8th of October 1958, in Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Egnr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele attended the University of Lagos where he bagged Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1982
He began his career with DAFEC consultants where he served as an engineer whose major responsibility was to design and prepare for rural electrification projects as well as to supervise and monitor the execution of this projects. Working in both the private and public sector, Engr. Ife Oyedele over the course of his career journey has worked in various niches; from engineering, manufacturing, construction, governance and engineering consulting from 1982 till date.
He also worked in the Oyo State Ministry of Works and Transport where he served for two years with similar responsibilities as his previous job. He also headed the sales department of Dynapower Nigeria Limited for two years after which he proceeded to work as a consultant for Edison Group and Partners where he designed electrical engineering projects as services per clients’ brief and terms and also supervised projects execution.
Engr. Oyedele’s innovative and leadership skills later saw him serve in a number of executive capacities in some bluechip companies carrying out cutting edge businesses in Nigeria between 1987 and 1991. As Executive Director/Chief Operations Officer, Oyedele set the companies’ businesses and strategic agenda, negotiated contracts and ensured quality and standard are maintained.
Until his appointment with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company on September 1, 2016, Oyedele was the Managing Director of Matcom Limited, a very successful construction company he set up and had run since 1992. He is currently the Executive Director, (Engineering and Technical Services), Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited.
Oyedele who took advantage of his office, the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) to restore electricity to Ondo South Senatorial District after almost 10 years of being thrown into complete darkness. He has achieved tremendous success in his effort of power restoration by handing over the largely completed project to Benin Electricity Distribution Company (Benin DISCO) to enable it to undertake customers enumeration and subsequent reconnection of the area to the national grid.
Engr. Ife Oyedele has not only limited himself to the aforementioned, he is also an astute and a well experienced politician. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the party Buhari formed ahead of the 2011 general election. CPC later merged with other parties to form APC in 2013. He was recorded to be the brain behind the APC logo
Over the last few years, Engr Ife Oyedele has shown himself to be a 21st politician properly called. One which the next generation of Nigerians can rely on to lead and show the way.
He is a vastly experienced and awesomely competent individual who is without a doubt a tested and trusted person. Oyedele is not just a super performer as a technocrat, he is also known for his penchant to always walk the talk.
Without doubt, Ifeoluwa Oyedele evidently stands out as a man of integrity whose watchword is competence. He is a man of extreme goodwill and someone whose integrity can never be negotiated or debated.
Aside from being of uncommon brilliance and impeccable integrity, Oyedele is a seasoned technocratic and committed party man who has paid his dues in politics and truly deserves all the best even as he celebrates his 63th birthday anniversary and in the years ahead.
