Hon. Temitope Adewale Adedeji: A True Icon of Effective and Progressive Representation

For the very first time, ever since the electoral victory of Hon Temitope Adewale Adedeji which saw him become a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and his subsequent Inauguration on the 7th of June,2019 ; Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 has indeed felt the presence of a true and progressive representative.

His achievements in such a short period have led to a renewed hope for the residents and politically conscious people who have long prayed that the existing leadership-vacuum within the local government be filled.

Hon Temitope Adewale Adedeji (JAH)), son of the late Dr. Elijah Olu Adewale, who prior to his death served as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Hon Temitope has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he stands different from the previous political leaders the constituency has ever witnessed in recent times.

Building on the legacies of his late father, Hon Temitope has continued in the footsteps of the late political titan, bridging gaps and forging alliances, delivering more of the dividends of democracy to his people.

Hon. Temitope, otherwise known as JAH was previously a Special Assistant to 2 serving civilian Governors in Lagos State, he served both under the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola,SAN. Both of whom acknowledged alongside the former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his late Father, Hon. (Dr.) Adewale Elijah Oluwatayo as his political mentors. He highly reveres Asiwaju Bola Ahmed, the Jagaban of Borgu as not just his political mentor but also his Godfather.

As a politician, he started his public service career as a revenue Supervisor at the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue (LIRS) before he got actively involved in grassroots politics. He got appointed into the Civil Service where he served in various ministries and agencies, among which are the public service office, ministry of lands, ministry of physical planing and urban development then the office of the Chief of Staff before he was appointed as the special assistant to the Lagos State Governor, Office of Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the Governor on Budget Monitoring respectively. In 2014, he was re-appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Lagos State on works and infrastructure.

He was elected on Saturday 9th of March of 2019 to represent the good people of Ifako Ijaiye at the Lagos State House of Assembly and ever since then he has continually sought for ways to open up the constituency for more development and growth.

Leveraging on policy making and good representation, he has been able to successfully changed the narrative for good by bringing in numerous projects and initiatives to boost communal development in the constituency through infrastructural cum industrial development and empowerment schemes.

Two years down the lane as a member of the Lagos House of Assembly, he has succeeded in bringing a new fresh air of progress to his people, within the house he has established himself one of the most proactive member of the house, banking on his highly exceptional relationship with fellow members and in particular, Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, the current speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly who he considers as another important political mentor, he has continued to make good waves through policy making and good representation.

The good people of Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 no doubt are proud of their decision in electing Hon. Temitope Adewale Adedeji as their representative, his good deeds amongst them has brought them immense joy that true and good representation is possible when the electorates see beyond mediocrity and sentiments to elect capable hands.
