The encomiums were high from the people of Ondo East Local Government area of Ondo State as the Lawmaker representing the Constituency, Hon. Oladiji Olamide popularly known as “Landmark” reeled out Empowerment items of various kinds to members of his constituency.
The event which took place at the Civic Centre, Bolorunduro Ondo East Local Government area of the State,today 20th of February 2021 saw to a large turnout of the members of the community who graced the event.
Items such as standing fans, Generator Set, Knapsack Sprayer, Fridges, Grinding Machine among many other items were evenly distributed among the people.
As the encomiums poured in from the people, Mr. Segun Owolabi who is among the beneficiaries stated that never in the history of the state has a Lawmaker spend this huge, even from his personal purse to meet the needs of his people.
It’s also stated regarding the Deputy Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly who is also the founder of Landmark Polytechnic that over the years as a Lawmaker he has developed a perchance for undertaking various community sustainace projects which had helped many of the members of the community to be financially independent and liberated.
Addressing members of his constituency at the event, Hon. Oladiji Olamide stated that it is duty of every Lawmaker to ensure that the interest of the members of his constituency are always protected and advanced.
He also explained that the empowerment program should have started a year ago but he had to shift it to honor the late Prof. Bayonile Tolani Ademodi.
He also added that the empowerment program is a continuous one mainly to give back to the people who he represents.
In his words,” I have 10 departments in the Landmark vocational training institute, tailoring, shoe making, baking, barbing, bead making/decorations; about 150 students are presently enrolled under the initiative which is tuition free.”
He urged the beneficiaries to use the given opportunity not only to better their lives but also support the local government.
Also speaking at the event, the State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin commended the Lawmaker for the Laudable initiative while also admonishing him never to relent in empowering his people
He also thanked the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN for his support which made the initiative a huge success
The Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Hon. Wale Olamide also praised the Lawmaker describing him as a change maker who is always poised to helping his people progress.
