Ekiti East bye-election holds March 20, says INEC

THE Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that the bye -election to fill the vacant seat for the Ekiti East Constituency 1 , of Ekiti State , will take place on March 20 2021 .
The commission announced the decision after its meeting held on February 23 , 2021 .
This was contained in a statement issued by its National Commissioner and chairman ( Information and Voter Education Committee) , Festus Okoye , in Abuja , on Wednesday .
He said the vacancy arose as a result of the death of Amos Adegbuyi Oluwajuwa , member representing Ekiti East Constituency 1 in the House of Assembly .
Okoye said , “ Consequently , the commission has fixed Saturday March 20 2021 for the conduct of the bye -election to fill the vacant seat for the Ekiti East Constituency 1 of Ekiti State .”
