COURT STRIKES OUT CHARGES AGAINST OLEYELOGUN AND OTHERS
Contrary to a report that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was granted the order to prosecute the Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prophet) Oleyelogun Bamidele David and others for alledged fraud of 2.4 million naira committed in 2019, an Akure High Court this morning (thursday, 27th October, 2022) has struck out the case charged against the Speaker and two others.
According to Justice Adegboyega Adebusuyi, the EFCC has failed to comply with the Practice Direction of the State Judiciary which made it compulsory for the Federal Government Agencies to get the consent of the Judiciary before they can prosecute in the State courts.
However, a fresh charge that was filed by the EFCC against the Rt. Hon.
