The APC in Akure South Local Government Area has suspended its Secretary, Mr. Abiodun Kayode, popularly known as Olukay.
In a release made available by the Ward Secretary Akinyele Silvester and the Public Relations Officer of the Ward, ojo fayomi, 17 Executive members of Ward 3 signed the suspension letter
Olukay was suspended over allegation of beating up a female appointtee and former woman leader of the party, Mrs Taiwo Bekkys today.
Mr. Abiodun kayode popularly known as Olukay reportedly beat the woman into a state of comma. .
The suspended party scribe, who is currently been held at a Police Station in Akure, is to appear at the state criminal investigation department Igbatoro road Akure tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the victim, Mrs Bekkys is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Akure. Police officers from the state Criminal Investigation Department have visited the victim while the Association of female lawyers in Ondo state have also paid her a visit.
Both Mr Olukay and other relevant bodies and chieftains of the party have since been informed about the development. The executive arm of the ward had invited Mr Olukay to appear before it today to no avail before it resolved to suspend him. The party had invoked section B on page 80 sub section iv to suspend him from the party. The party noted with regret that Mr Biodun kayode had assaulted and beaten up one Ademeso Idowu the Assistant Public Relations Officer of the party of the ward at a stakeholders meeting at Mr Jimmy Faloye house few months ago.
The letter was communicated to the LG party chairman, State chairman, the Governor of the state who is the leader of the party in the state and other relevant bodies. However, the LG executive in Akure South received and adopted the report today at a meeting held at the LG party secretariat where 18 of the members in accordance with the rules of not more than twenty members and strictly in compliance with social distance rules adopted the report and invited Mr Olukay for a meeting tomorrow.
In another development both the party chairman Mr Olu Ojo, his vice Alhaji Suleiman, the treasurer of the party, Mr. Femi Adodo and Financial Secretary have been directed to appear before a seven man committee tomorrow.
Confirming receipt of the suspension order of ward 3 executive members, the Local Government Legal Adviser, Barrister Kunle Adedara and P. R. O Elder Oladimeji Success confirmed that the Local Government Exco members in accordance with the rules of covid19 and maintainance of social distance 18 of d LG Exco met and adopted the report from ward three. They also said a 7-member committee has been set up to look into the matter and financial misappropriation levelled against some leaders of the party to the tune of one million naira and other acts inimical to progress of the party.
The members are to appear before the committee at 10am tomorrow at the party office in Akure South . The invited people are the party Chairman, Mr Olu Ojo, his vice, Alhaji Suleiman, the Secretary, Mr olukayode Biodun olukay, the Treasurer, Mr Femi Adodo and the Financial Secretary, Mr. Awojide Babasola
