Akure North/South Federal Constituency By-Election: An Opportunity for Eyitayo Jegede to Prove his Political Might

Eyitayo Jegede. SAN no doubt comes with an endearing personality, qualities which can only be attributed to the best of men; calm, reserved and classic in his ways, more importantly he commands respects from majority. While the last two gubernatorial elections which he contested in Sunshine State while flying the flag for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State didn’t come his ways, nonetheless he gave a good fight, one worthy of a true gubernatorial aspirant.

However, it’s a well established reality within our socio-political setting that being good and respected does not win an election, the political might of a political figure does not majorly rest on how much goodness that is in him, political might has to do with how influence a political figure has within and outside his/her circles, how well he is able to command men in their numbers to do his/her bidding in our political context.

The fast approaching by-election to fill the vacant space in Akure North/South Federal Constituency will provide another opportunity for Eyitayo Jegede.SAN to prove his mettle as the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, while many over the last few months has come to question his leadership wit and influence in the party, the gaze will not be on the various aspirants who are seeking to contest the by-election but on Eyitayo Jegede.SAN.

Just like the people will be banking on the leadership of the party Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Fatai Adams to lead the Party but also on Eyitayo Jedege. SAN to harness his leadership qualities as well as put his political might into play.

Akure North/South Federal Constituency is a major winning ground for the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, historically, previous elections has seen them taken this battle ground as their forte and this coming election in the Constituency will be a major one considering the present status of their major opponent, the All Progressive Party (APC).

Eyitayo Jedege.SAN has a lot to do as the party’s leader in the State, a failure on his part to lead the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to victory will raise many questions about his political ability to stand and boast as the party’s leader in Ondo State.
