Aketi Continuity Mandate Group Meet In Akure, Promise Commitment To Governor Akeredolu’s Reelection.
The re-election bid of Governor Akeredolu has received a boost as APC members in both Akure North and South Local Governments vow to work tirelessly for him to get reelected.
Meeting under auspices of the Aketi Continuity Mandate Group, appointees from the two Councils unanimously agreed that the disposition of the governor to the development of Akure was encouraging and second to none.
Speaking to the gathering, the coordinator and Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye said mission of the group was to work towards ensuring success of Governor Akeredolu in next year’s governorship election.
“The best thing for the state at large, you and I is to ensure Aketis continuity. We have no option. We are fortunate to be in government today as members of the ruling party. There is no room for inconsistency and double dealing. Such always lose out at the end of the day.”
He disclosed the governor had assured that Local Council polls would be conducted before the governorship elections later in 2020.
“We have been helped by this decision, though it might not turn out good for those who fail to work hard. Now, each of us must revive Ward meetings in our localities. Leaders of this group will be visiting the wards on regular basis to assess your performances. Henceforth, we have to strengthen our party in our areas. When we meet regularly in large numbers, the people will know these are APC. The local council polls is going to test our popularity in our wards.”
Others, who spoke at the meeting were SSAs to the Governor Hon Tayo Abidakun and Mr Afolabi Lincoln Ojo, SA to the Governor, Hon Festus Aregbesola, former Chairman of Water Corporation Ondo State, Chief Dapo Filani, Iyaloja General of APC ONDO State, Chief Mrs Funke Adu and Mr. Femi Bello.
They all canvassed total and unflinching support for the second term ambition of the governor.
According to them, Akure has benefitted immensely under this government from infrastructural development to appointments better than any previous administration. They called for unity of purpose in order to succeed in the pursuit of their goal.
The group meeting was attended by a former Chairman ACCOMORAN ONDO state, Mr Bolous, all Local Government excos, Supervisors and Ward Chairmen from both Local Government Areas.
