The Governing Council of Adekunle Ajasin University has approved the appointment of Mr. Bamidele Abiodun Olukoju as the sixth substantive Bursar of the institution.
The decision was ratified at the Council’s meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2026. His appointment, which takes immediate effect, is for a single tenure of five years.
Olukoju will succeed Dr. A. Tobi Orina, whose tenure as Bursar officially ends on June 30, 2026.
A distinguished accountant, administrator, and scholar, Olukoju hails from Ikare-Akoko in Ondo State. He began his educational journey at Ajowa Community Primary School, Ajowa-Akoko, and later attended Ikare Grammar School, Ikare-Akoko.
He furthered his academic pursuits at the University of Abuja, National Open University of Nigeria, and Adekunle Ajasin University, where he is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Science in Business Administration.
Before his appointment, Olukoju served as Deputy Bursar at AAUA and had also worked at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, where he held strategic positions across Treasury Services, Management Services, Accounting Services, Loans and Advances, Budget Control, and Expenditure Management.
His professional journey spans banking, auditing, financial analysis, and consultancy, with stints at Pinnacle Micro-Finance Bank, J. Walter Udoeyop & Co., Essential HealthCare Ltd., Olivr Pearl Ltd., SAOK Consult, as well as the National Youth Service Corps, where he served at the Bureau of Public Enterprises under the Presidency in Abuja.
Within AAUA, Olukoju has played key roles in institutional financial reforms, e-payment implementation, auditing, and revenue management. He has also served on several committees and, on multiple occasions, acted as Bursar, an indication of the confidence reposed in him by the university management.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and a registered member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Olukoju is widely regarded as a seasoned financial professional committed to excellence and accountability.
Beyond administration, he has also contributed to academia as a part-time lecturer in the Accounting Department of AAUA and has co-authored scholarly publications on accounting and sustainability reporting.
He is married and blessed with children.
