Amid cacophonies of media attacks/ counterattacks and protests fueling by the purported impeachment proceeding against Deputy Governor, Hon. Orimisan Lucky Ayedatiwa by the Ondo State House of Assembly, a pressure group, Concerned APC Loyalists (CAL) has implored the State House of Assembly to thread with caution and adhere to the constitutionality and due process.
The group through its Media Director, Dr. Oye Adeniyi in a press release in Akure at the weekend, cautioned the state House of Assembly members to refrain from any action or inaction that could be inimical to the peace and progress of the state. Warns the Assembly members against fighting another man’s battle in the name of political Vendatta.
Dr. Adeniyi said; ” the truth is, what is happening in the state is unfortunate, it should not have happened in the first instance, there is no rationale for that. People are watching and studying the scenario as it is unfolding. It is an opened secret. What is expected from the state House of Assembly (ODHA) is to start making law that would be of help to leverage on President Bola Tinubu vision of achieving his renewed hope 8-point agenda with regards to Ondo State”
” People’s welfare and wellbeing need to be looked into. That should be the primary focus and agenda, not this detraction and predetermined impeachment process that lead to nowhere from the state House of Assembly if they are indeed the true representatives of the people.”
Adeniyi opined; “however, we can not query Ondo state House of Assembly (ODHA) for performing its constitutional duty, but we hope they are studying and following the mood of the state. We urge the Lawmakers to endeavor to walk the street and see how unpopular this Vendatta-seeking impeachment process is.”

Olatunji Oshati, Chairman, House Committee on Information was right that the allegation letter served to the Deputy Governor marks the initiation of the impeachment proceedings.That the procedure is rooted in due process, not hastily concorted. That they are conscious of the integrity of the present state House of Assembly and will not falter in our constitutional responsibilities to our constituents. That is laudable!”
” We hope the state House of Assembly will adhere to its integrity as proclaimed, and prioritize the interest of the state above selfish and parochial interest of a few tiny cabal in the government.”
“People are not oblivious of the desperation and shenanigans being orchestrated by a few vested interest in pursuant of some inordinate ambitions, and head-bent on sinking the state along themselves, which has been in their agenda before Arakunrin Akeredolu embarked on his medical vacation and transmission of power to the deputy governor in acting capacity.”
” We are aware and still in the record that the whole state was threw into pandemonium during the inauguration of the 10th Assembly when same people fueling this crisis were trying to impose an Owo man who later became the House leader as the speaker.”
” This amateur tiny cabal have not explained to us the people of the state what necessitated that idea of having governor and the speaker from Owo town up till this moment.”
“We want it to be on record that ondo state people may be gentle and considerate but are not a conquered people. We are not slaves or fools that can be pushed around by a few vested interest in the state. Enough is enough. We shall see beyond their malfeasance.”
