- OLA AMUDA TELLS HIS COMMUNITY
A well known Philanthropist and Community leader Pastor OlaAmuda has told his community – Ogbagi Akoko of his desire to represent it well at the forthcoming bye election into the Akoko North Federal Constituency seat at the Federal House of Representatives. This statement was made at a meeting in Ogbagi Ward 6 of Akoko North West Local Government Area on Tuesday 5th of September, 2023 .
It should be recalled that the Akoko North Federal Constituency seat at the House of Representatives was declared vacant following the resignation of Hon Bunmi Tunji Ojo, after he was appointed as the Minister of interior of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the President.
The Ogbagi Community has been in the fore front of other Communities seeking to present Candidate for the Seat in the forthcoming election. The Community has initiated necessary steps to having competent, reputable and presentable son or daughter for the position .
Therefore, the desire of Ola-amuda to present himself for the contest was a welcome development that was well applauded by the people. Speaking further at the Meeting, he noted that the steps of a righteous man are order by God . He told leaders at the meeting that there was always a convergent point between a purpose driven by selfless desire and the required people’s support and determination. He therefore. used the opportunity of the important meeting to crave the indulgent and support from the entire citizenry of the two local Government areas involved to support this achievable goal .
He opined that ” My desire is for the Federal Constituency to have a Productive Representation for the good of our people ,God helping us “.
Speaking at the meeting , many political leaders were happy that a person of the calibre of Ola-amuda who once contested as the Governorship candidate of Accord Party in 2016 decided to represent the popular Akoko North Federal Constituency at the point in time. He sought for the consideration of all principals Stakeholders to the election, as he highlighted four major Stakeholders; the Community must continually pressurized to make the dream possible. Hon Bunmi Tunji Ojo (the immediate past holder of the position) as well as individuals both high and low within the two Local Government Areas .
Ola-amuda has been noted to have an outstanding career in the Public Service of Ondo State . Politically speaking, he was an Aide to the famous late Governor Olusegun Agagu while he was the Governor of Ondo State between 2003 and 2009. He also contested as the Governship Candidate of Accord Party in 2016. He has been a Member of APC since September 2017 in the State.
He is a philanthropist who cares for widows orphans and indigent students in the Society. He is the President of JoyBearers Care Organisation, a non Governmental Organization that cares for Widows.
He has his root from both Akoko North West Local Government and Akoko North East Local Government . While his father was a well respected community leader in Ogbagi Akoko, his mother: Princess Aladeyemi Elisabeth Amuda ( Nee Ogbohunekun) is the oldest surviving direct daughter of Ogbohunekun Olonoola of the Owalukare ruling House, Okela, Ikare Akoko.
Ola Amuda holds Five University Degrees in different Fields. He is married to Mrs Lola Amuda with Children.
